I used to ride and race a lot in Europe, but then life got in the way. Now it's mostly recreational. I only use my GPS for some data, don't use a powermeter anymore. I just love to ride.

Old pic of the road bike. Before I rebuilt it with custom made bar and stem combo, seat and brake set.
New pic of the tri bike. Probably going to part it out. I just don't use it that much.

Man both of those a freaking awesome. I would love to have a powermeter but man those things cost a grip.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. The road bike was my old race bike, and it got me through some hard times. Riding for 3-5 hours is good therapy.

If you have any aspirations of racing, I suggest you bite the bullet and get a refurbished SRM right away plus some literature on how to use it. It pays great dividends in the long run.

I ride a Jamis Dakar Xlt. I try to get out as much as I can. The wife usually comes with me, and she can handle most of the single track where I ride. Only problem is, we always have to take her car as I will not put a bike rack on the Mustang.

Not going to be blatant about this... Just going to place it in this thread since we all have probably riden for a charity a time or two...

I'm a pretty big cyclist (literally as I'm considered a Clydesdale at 6' - 229lbs) so I ride for allot of charities. The biggest in Texas and in the nation for that matter is the Houston to Austin BPMS150 Bike Tour...
I just completed the tour yesterday and besides some interesting weather changes and a few busted spokes (too much PEDAL POWER, :thumb:)... it was a great ride.:beerdrink:

Since I figure a few of the cyclist on this board have riden for charity... I'm just going to go ahead and solicit the S197 community for a donation.. small, medium, or large... doesn't matter! Myself, My Champion Rider and the MS Society would be very greatful...thanks

Mods.. if you frown upon this sort of thing, please remove.

Every hour, someone is newly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, an unpredictable disease of the central nervous system.
I registered for the 2010 BP MS 150 because I want to do something about MS now. I'm asking you to support my efforts with a tax-deductible donation.
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is dedicated to creating a world free of MS and they need our help. Started riding BMX when I was 7 , raced all across the country till I was old enough to drive and the bike kinda went on the back burner. I still have a mint BOSS pro / xl that I won at the grands in kentucky that has pretty much never been ridden ( a time capsule!) About 2 years ago I got the itch to get back into riding so I bought a Giant STP for the trails and jumps and after many different road bike I ended up with a Cervelo Soloist for the road . The soloist is the best bike I have ever ridden .

I've got an IronHorse Azure...used to ride 5-10 miles every other day or so, until I wrecked my knee about 6 months ago. Haven't gotten back on since, damn thing hasn't healed up properly.

I used to be really into Mountain Biking, i have a Trek VRX200 with a Triple Crown Fork and Shimano XT everything, did some really hardcore single track riding for about 7 years, it was great fun but im suprised i havnt gotten seriously injured.

My riding friend moved about 2 years ago and i havnt been on the bike since, still have the bike though, i gotta post some pix.

Finally found a pic, 99 Trek VRX 200 with a Manitau Triple Crown Fork (Tons of travel), Fox rear shock/spring, Shimao XT Derailers, levers, Brakes, Titanium narrowed handle bars with support brace and tons of other crap i spend way too much money on.

There are few things in life that you can do where you dont think about anything other than the moment your in and truly feel alive and free, Mountain biking is one of them.

I ride a Trek 3700 SE, which I haven't rode since August before my stem cell transplant but I rode it all somewhere and I swear it helped me sail thru my transplant and get to remission. I'll be riding again around March

Just found this thread. I have a Gary Fisher 29er that I love. I am what some would call a newb. Lol. Have been riding for about two months. I love it! Had a bad wreck that ended with me having a concussion on Halloween and haven't riden since. Gotta get new handlebars... I can't wait to get back out there and riding again though!
