I've read in various places that the Pypes Long Tubes are knock offs of the Kooks piece. Do any of you know if this is true or not? I'm a little curious to see what the S197forum experts say.
Pypes longtubes come with EVERYTHING(gaskets, O2 extension, all bolts) you need to install. Cats will be extra, but who really needs those anyways.I checked out the price of Pypes headers at Brenspeed and added the H pipe, cats, O2 sensor extenders, and gaskets to get the same stuff that came with my Kooks headers. The price from Brenspeed currently is $1024.15. I got in on a group buy to get my Kooks headers last year and paid $1150 shipped. The Kooks included the headers, H pipe with high flow cats, O2 harness extender, gaskets, and new bolts for attaching the headers to the cylinder head. If you looks aorund you may be able to find more group buys for the Kooks headers. I've seen them from various vendors on various forums over the past year.
I'd rather pay the extra $125 for the Kooks knowing that they stand behind their products. I've heard of people having problems with Pypes cat back systems in the past and the company didn't do much to resolve the issue or was slow to do anything about it. I haven't heard any complaints about Kooks.

Glad to see ya joined up!Yeahhh... Uhm, I Just purchased pypes long tubes and 'H' from brenspeed for like 724... Huge savings over the kooks.
I had a pypes offroad H awhile back and while the fitment was good the clamps were shit. Had to weld everything together to stop the leaks.pypes with cats is $870 and kooks with cats is $1097, i am taking the kooks. i pur a pypes h pipe with cats, it was trash. putting long tubes on is a big job you only once.
I bought my Kooks headers and offroad X-pipe at the ford nationals car show in carlisle......RIGHT OUT OF THE PYPES TRUCK. I got them last year, the pypes guys said they used them to make their copies.
Glad to see ya joined up!

The longtubes however are very nice. I was going to order Kooks but then quite a few people who have first hand experience posted about how nice the pypes were so I gave em a shot and Im glad I did.
