I'm Cam - Mr. Indecisive
I was expecting to see some cam journals serviced, but to my surprise I got caught reading up this thread. I think that what separates a vendor from a single person are the following:
Single Person Sales:
-Sells his own personal belongings (that he purchased, or was generally installed on their personally owned car)
-Sells something for a friend, and then funds are given back to said person.
-Sells something that is classified as his own personal property (whether or not paid for or given to for free)
Vendor:
-Sells something where profits go to a actual business and not personal funds
-Sells something for a distributor
-Sells something to benefit a third party, that is not a personal friend or colleague
I don't think there is a need to disclose what you are selling belonged to a friend as long as you can verify that the part is 100% functional. I do think that you should only sell things you can verify yourself too. We all make mistakes and I've sold crap that didn't work like it was suppose to and therefore I altered my selling habbits by either making sure that I knew what I was selling, not selling it, or making sure you list the item "AS-IS". I'm a eBay whore and this crap has been branded into me because sellers get murdered if the buyers bitch about their items not being "right."
All of this stuff can be debatable, and I do honestly respect everyone's opinion regarding how they feel on this subject but this is just my .02. I do understand how some are a little disturbed by the inventory that Caleb (HOLYWD) put through the classified on a weekly basis and that some stuff he has sold has had minor problems, but if you move that much inventory in general there are going to have problems.
I am in computer sales and I sell shit all over the place, and move an average of about 10 parts a week. Out of 20 parts usually 1 thing has a problem. I accept that and I continue selling it because I made an oath to make sure that I help my customers with whatever happens with the products I sell, and from the looks of it Caleb does the same and he helps make sure that the people who buy from his classifieds are handled to make sure they are either happy with their purchase or happy getting their money back.
Again I respect everyone's opinions and again Caleb has shown to have proved to help his customer by giving his customer what he wanted in the end-yes it did seem to have a little rough on the communication, but anyone will be a little disgruntled when their money did not get what they anticipated - its normal.
As long as he posted this at the end of each sell thread, I got no problem:
kidding...
... not really
