I know some guys are running one, but I'm not. That's not to say I won't add one someday, but frankly it hasn't been a priority for me.

You can datalog your transmission temps with your xcal 2 and the Live Link 3 software. I've checked mine many times and the temps have been fine with my setup. Tranny fluid stays between 160-180 degrees.

That's the best way to do it no doubt. My tranny runs hot anyway with my set-up but my gauge typically reads about 220-230 degrees on a cruise and I used to be worried about it but then after datalogging, found the gauge not to be accurate. Now it's just a showpiece.
