For 2005 GT With a Vortech V3,what is the best ?????
Now I run the Mafia and i have some issues at low rpm,but I don't know if the mafia work properly......but if the BA5000 are better,I switch right now.I have 621rwhp.
What is your opinion about that ????

I've had both and prefer the HPX which at one time was the same as a BA5000. Might not be anymore.

The Mafia seems like a band aid more than a permanent solution to me.

Pretty sure your issue is not the MAFia, one is a meter and the other is just a meter extender. When a MAFia goes bad it just doesn't work, doesn't give issues at certain RPMs.

We use and sell the hpx. He makes them for sct (ba5000) vmp and a few others i cant think of right now. We use the hpx-e. I am making the numbers in my sig with it no problem on our twin kit without pegging it.

Ask your tuner before getting anything, at the end is him who is going to work with the sensor, either way, suggestion, do not get the E for the vortech.

Ok.......and why it's not a good idea for the E and the Vortech ????
Sorry but i'm lost a little bit...

A MAF sensor is just that, a sensor, a meter, is not a performance item (as Jet performance makes you think) and as many things in this, bigger is not always better, as a meter, you need it to have enough range maintaining resolution.

You have a MAFia because the stock sensor does not provides enough range, it will peg quite soon with big airflow situations, it is an extender, is just there to give the stock sensor more range.

A modified aftermarket sensor will have more range (in this case will show less voltage with the same airflow) so you will have range, but by doing this, you lose resolution (same airflow changes reflect lower voltage changes).

Actual final range of a sensor depends on its housing size, it meters a small fraction of the cross section of the housing pipe, the bigger the housing, more total airflow with the same readout, gaining range.

So choosing a correct meter is important because if you go too big you lose too much resolution and can get into issues, if too small, it will peg.

You current V3 housing is close to a 4" OD housing, the stock sensor would peg around the 400rwhp, with a a MAFia you can make it go around the 6xx, an HPX could get you over the 8xx-1000probably, an HPX-E about around the 1200+rwhp, (all these are very gross estimations), ProM and a newer BA5000 around that too. So you will be using only half of the sensor range with very poor resolution that can get into issues.

So you can not just take an aftermarket meter as a performance or isolated item, need to estimate airflow and consider housing size (among other stuff you dont need get into being draw thru)

Probably you have a backwash issue due to the bypass, does that pipe comes with the bypass return connection(s) or did you have to weld them in?
