I had a 2011 Kona blue premium auto equipped car and got bored with it and sold it. welp today i Bought a 2013 base model GT with the track pack and it's like a totally different car. once i get comfortable with the shifter i think i'm really gonna enjoy this thing. i don't think i'll ever buy another camaro.

So what's the big difference?
the throttle response seems snappier on the manual, the biggest thing i noiticed is i dont have to wait it to downshift when i want to boogie. the auto seemed to suffer from either throttle lag or it wouldn't downshift soon enough when you stepped on it. dont get me wrong the auto was fast and went a 12.63 @113 bone stock but it sure didnt feel like a 12 second car around town.

did you ever put a tune into the '11 auto?

I am picking up a '13 DI Blue base auto tomorrow. I quit driving manuals w/ my '03 cobra...moved into an S197 auto in '08 and never looked back.

I test drove the exact car you got last week (6 sp. manual) and just decided I would stay w/ an auto...the car drove real nice... but I am 45 and getting older every day...

I know what you mean about the slow downshifting on the auto without a tune. You can be cruising at 60mph and floor it and it seems like nothing happens for a second or two. The factory auto calibration sucks donkey balls.

I wanted to get a tune but didnt want to risk voiding my warranty. I most likely wont tune the new car either. oh and i'm going to be 48 next month.

I know what you mean about the shifter. Taking some getting used to in my '13. I have owned 3 other manual cars, but this one seems the most difficult to get used to. That 2-3 shift can be tricky when you are getting on it. I find myself in 5, and then cursing as I shift it back to 3.

Did you have a 11 or 12 MT before?

Congrats on the new Mustang! She's a beauty!

43 here and LOVE my manual car. It's probably the #1 reason it wasn't stolen in Atlanta last year.

Having said that, my next car will be an auto most likely. My left knee is getting worse every year.

Neither. This is my first Mustang.

'92 Chevy Cavalier - 5 speed
'93 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS - 5 speed
'03 Ford Focus SVT - 6 speed

The 2nd to 3rd is alot different in these models compared to the previous years. That's why I asked. You will be on it in no time.

Just turned 40 on Monday. I couldn't imagine buying this car in an automatic. I am sure it is nice, but for me, there was only one option. Manual all the way!!
