That's a valid suggestion. But, the buyer says everything should have been clean, so if there was dirt/debris in there, it would have only been a small amount. Possibly even one "chunk". Enough to plug up an injector, but not enough to plug up any of the others.

Sometimes on a new build, no matter how hard you try to avoid it, crap sneaks into places it's not supposed to.

I concur with Sam. Just because only one injector messed up, doesn't mean there wasn't dirt in the system. Could also have happened during install.

I just hate to see Bobby getting his name smeared and Woody feeling like he got fucked. From what I've seen the couple years I've been around, Bobby seems to be a stand-up guy. On the other hand, I've enjoyed reading Woody's post. Seems like this is just a totally fucked up situation for either of these guys to be in. The dirt/debris could've come from either place, manufacturer/end user and there's really noway to pinpoint it. In this case, the end user is at the mercy of the manufacturer and it puts Bobby in the middle, a totally fucked up place to be during a dispute.

not taking sides, but unless it was all assembled in a clean room, theres plenty of places for dirt/ debris to come from. I left a throttle body sitting on my work table getting ready for an install. when I went back half an hour later when I was ready for it, it was filthy. I blame my new garage roof. theres still shit falling and settling from when they tore off the original. its wreaking havoc on my car as well. I bought a leaf blower just to get all the crap off my car when I want to take it out

Sucks being the middle guy no doubt. not that the seller had anything to do with the actual bad injector...but I am sure that out of all the injectors sold they have had 100% reliability?? And why is it always the customer that must have fucked it up?

I have been told by the supplier that Bobby uses that they test every injector before it is sent out; without being there I cannot verify that so have to take him at his word.

If the injector was tested before it was sent out, the injector would not fire once the fuel system was primed, the injector was sent back to be tested and it was reported to have something it it....well.....I am sure woody did not intentionally do anything to the injector but something in the car caused an issue.

I can see the points others have raised about it being odd only 1 injector out of 8 had the issue but who knows what was where in the fuel system from the tank to the rail.

First every place has quality control where I work there are certain manufacturers that there quality control sucks. 2nd no matter how good quality control is shit happens it could have happened while be packaged. 3rd there was another vendor on here not too long ago that had a great reputation and people that are on here now bashed the hell out of them because of a miscommunication said he should eat $900 or so out of his pocket to make the situation right to make any customer happy even though he offered to pay half and ended up making the person completely whole with a refund including shipping was still bashed. Like I was saying in that thread mistakes happen no matter how good your service is it may be your fault or your suppliers or whoevers. If its $95 wouldnt it have been easy to just take it on the chin to keep a guy happy and coming back.

^But isnt that what booby was doing until the bashing started? bobby got him a new injector. why wouldnt a vendor try to go through the warranty process first before taking it out of pocket? any vendor is going to try to get the part warrantied first before shelling out of pocket right?

exactly what i am saying. only one went bad. one very small piece of debris stuck in a fuel line/ rail is all it takes.

He only owes me $75 i still stand behind what i told him that i will cover the $20 cleaning fee.

Holy fuck this shit has been going on for a long time over $75. Sometimes shit happens with brand new parts. Sportinawoody you're modifying a car and its not always going to go totally smoothly. It sucks but you were the last guy to touch that injector and it's fucked up now. There's no way to tell where along the chain it went bad. I figure if you can't afford to eat $75 once in awhile as the last guy to touch parts, you're probably in the wrong hobby. It doesn't sound like anyone is out to fuck you it's just the way things go sometimes. Suck it up and move on. The whining is getting old. If you need the $75 that bad, I'd pitch in. JFC!

The absolute best charity I know of is St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
My nephew had a surgery there and it's 100% true, parents don't get billed one dime.
