BBK CAI

Does anybody know if tuning is necessary with a BBK Cold Air Intake? I bought an SCT SF3 what does anyone recommend i set the tune at? I was told to advance the tune 2 degrees, is this a good idea? Thank you in advance for everyones help!

Forgot to mention my car is a GT, only mods are MAC mufflers and BBK CAI.

Doesn't BBK claim no tune needed?
advancing timing 2 deg worked ok for me.
Also put it on a 93 oct tune.

Did you get a tune with the sct? If you want to get the most out of it I'd suggest getting a tune e-mailed to you to put on the sct. www.brooksspeed.com can hook you up with a fantastic one.

If the maf tube size is changed or switched to a different design than a tune is required. No ifs and buts about it. Now, I'm not saying the BBK needs it but just use that rule and make your decision. Honestly, I don't even know anything about the BBK cai.

the intake is same diameter than stock just put k&n tune and it works good

So the maf tube is the same size as stock? That's nearly pointless, IMO.
