SCT tuner question

Recently purchased an 08 gt. Car already had some mods including catless h pipes. It came an SCT tuner. Previous owner told me it was used to tuned for the 02 sensor delete. Car has stock air box, but I'd like to switch to a cold air intake. Is the cai tune built into the SCT where I can just plug it in and tune the car for it? Or do I have to purchase a tune specifically for the cai. Thanks

It depends.

What SCT device? Also which CAI? Not all CAIs need tunes (if they keep the stock 80MM MAF housing, for example).

Some of the newer SCT devices come with canned tunes for common CAIs.

I'm not sure which model of SCT it is, it's an older version like the attached pic. I'm looking at the JLT serious 3 cai.

Yes, a JLT series 3 does require a tune due to the increased MAF diameter.

Your SCT device is an X3 which can still be used. You could try and update to see if it has any canned tunes from SCT, however I would recommend a custom tune.

For remote tuners, Lito (Manuel Pazo) is the most well regarded 3v tuner. I have also used JDM Engineering. Brenspeed is also a big 3v tuner, though has mixed reviews here.

I would start with Lito.
