i only own hand tools ;( looks like ill have to pay someone for the install lol

Oh no way man. You could RENT some air tools and a compressor for less than the install would cost at a shop. It's pretty straightforward and totally doable with hand tools--air tools just make it a lot easier.

If you're gonna do it with hand tools, make sure to have a fairly large breaker bar, it will make your life much easier.

For the strut rotating problem, I have done it before using a big pair of clamps, wrap the strut shaft in a towel to prevent damage, and just clamp it and tighten the top nut.

Would you dare say better than you GC settup?

Keep in mind, my GC was the add on sleeves added to Koni yellows. Ass end of the car would feel like it just bottomed out on bump. The BC feels stiffer without being uncomfortable.....and I have even tried to adjust them yet. Going over bumps it feels nice and solid.

Only thing I'm concerned with is the rear set up, coils are as high as they will go, shocks are as low as they will go and that gives me about 2.5 inches of clearance before it would hit the bumpstop on the shock. But so far so good, I really think they should be using taller springs in the rear.

I would argue you really need at least a 9" tall spring outback for a more usable ride height. 2.5" isn't much for travel but I'm not in much better of a situation with about 3.5" of travel.

Please keep me informed on this issue as I have the same concern with my rear bc springs and perches.

How exactly did you make the cut on the shock towers? With a whole saw? If so what size did you end up using? And did it leave the metal looking rough and exposed?

Took a 60 mile round trip today, lots of open road and thru a few small towns! I changed it from 15 clicks to 10 clicks from soft, it rides great. I think a click or two here and there and ill have my street settings figured out.

To cut the hole I did use a hole saw, I'm not sure the exact size because I just pulled them out f my kit until I found the correct one. If I had to guess I would say 2 1/4....I could look and get back to you on that.

The way I should have done, but was too lazy....would be to let the strut down and bolt up a piece of wood underneath using some long bolts, mark the center and use the hole saw to drill down.

The way I ended up doing it was taking a piece of wood, running the hole saw thru it and the 4 mounting holes, then I set it over the top to just as a guide for the whole saw...it was the greatest fit but still turned out great. I just coated the exposed metal with touch up paint.

Probably won't need the spring compressor, you can get a buddy to help push down on the top mount while you tighten the nut real quick. Spring compressor doesn't hurt though--I just find it clumsy and difficult to use.

Depends on your drop. Once the car is lowered on the ground, check under the car and see how much space there is between the frame and the bump stop. If it's close, you will "bottom out" the frame when going over bumps. If you're dropping less than 2", I would say you probably won't have to trim them. If you drive around the the rear of the car seems extremely harsh when going over bumps, then trim it!
