On beef/coffeeman/lunds cars they are always doing stuff. Trying new parts/boost/convertors/intakes/etc etc. Plus different power levels.

As said brand new setup. Terry went out and ran a 8.75@159 on first pass. Lu.d 9.0 and some changes coffeeman went 8.9. And more changes coming.

Hell coffeeman is adding power all time, changing something to get most out a production Ford engine. He went long time on just the stock engine.

from the famous tapatalk

But Terry went 8.75 on this combo. Took some time to learn what worked and what didn;t to get there though. Like I said......Not taking sides here.

Yes, it absolutely takes time to make a car work, Terry and the other guys can attest to that. BBR, however, has yet to take the time and effort to produce anything similar. A performance shop that doesn't go out and actively push the limit of their product? Fuhgettaboutit.

not that I ever saw, JPC makes one IIRC

They used to have them, they have been out of stock for over a year; they did make billet ones that you had to use aftermarket fuel rails AND had to get CMDP deletes and were about $200-300 more than the cast ones...so you paid more for the billet to start with, you had to add fuel rails and then pay more money for the plates....

From their site:
MMR "SPYDER" Manifold
Simply the baddest manifold available for your High HP 2005-2010 3 Valve. Available for 4.6 or 5.4 with different throttle body locations, includes Billet Fuel rails

Its good for 5.4 or 4.6...I think they look pretty cool myself....

Thats the Ford Racing Plastic intake....

Go under 2005+ parts and scroll down for the pic...Part number is on the right

i am guessing they are producing the 5.0 on a larger scale since there are not many others out on the market, thus reducing cost.

actually, this is a brand new shortblock although essentially the same platform.

it does however, have brand new cams, with a completely different design than jon/ken had ever tuned on one of these cars, along with a head that hadn't messed with either.

we locked the cams in where Ken told me he felt would be the best place

we remote loaded the base file, let the car idle for 45 seconds, sent the log, loaded a new file, did some neutral revs, sent the file

ken sent me another file and said we were ready for the street / dyno.

i drove the car to the dyno, made a small pull, tweaked the fuel a little, tried another pull, the plugs were getting blowout, so we gapped them down,

changed the gap, made another pull, everything looked good, with a small tweak on fuel,

went to a smaller pulley, ran it, worked great on the same tune, packed it up and headed to Fl, pulled it off the trailer and went 8.75....

So, 5 minutes of logging pre dyno, 2 all out dyno runs, and we were going 8.7's...

When you know what your doing, it's not tha hard. Jon / Ken are the best at what they do. They just are.
