Unless you have a fully built motor, and damn near a race only car... no need to go above p1.

centri's and turbo street cars benefit from smaller comperssors b/c lack of lag, and potential of catastrophic boost/power.

P1 w/ supporting mods (especailly the driver), you wont need any more on the street. Several p1's pushing up to 600hp.

Why get the 'bigger one' and wait for efficient boost, and be at risk for another 'rebuild' of one thing or another... :asshat:.

wouldnt it suck, to finally get your build done... and in 2 months be picking up pieces, or getting pulled by little paxtons, p1s, and 60mm turbos that spool faster???

so are u saying that the d-1 takes more time to build boost. that was another thing i wasnt sure about was what do the p-1's max out at power wise.

I upgraded mine from the P1 to the D1 & didn't notice any more time in creating boost. I also did a complete motor build at the same time so I don't have an equal comparison.

peak power of a p1... you just bought a used blower... do you plan on spending another 5K on bottom end?

Supporting trans, rear end for such a build?

Man, dont do what so many do...

Yes, I know it dosent cost much more to get part a than b... BUT, that dosent mean b is better for your build... yes, b can/is used on x hp cars that run x.xx at xxxx mph.... BUT does it fit your build RIGHT NOW.

Before you know it, your 20K into a build and you may get 5Kmiles out of the car in the next year...:asshat:

p1, good driver, supporting mods... LOW 11sec daily driver :hitit::hitit:

Thats good stuff! And reliable....

BUT, bottom line, it is your car, do what you want.

I feel for your purchase situation to begin with... If I were you Id by dieing to get back into my car for several months of good driving before more down time/$$.

The longest mine has been down was 3 weeks... h/c swap right in the middle of Hurricane season:asshat: 2 mandatory evacuations later...

JMO

These cars are way too fun mildly modded to not drive the shit out of 'em ALOT!! :beerchug2:

Buy a old stripped notch and make a F2 Fire Breathing beast out of it...drive that s197!

yea i dont want anything to radical just a nice street going 11 sec car capable car. I def need the driver mod considering my horrible times at the track its either me, or the track maybe both. considering the damn track has cracks in it and bumps and dont prep it for a shit. i think i'll just rebuild the p-1 i want a fast street car not a damn race car lol well both would be nice.

you'll thank yourself for keeping it simple... and in a few years; this platform will be the 'old' one, and parts will be a fraction of the cost, and be the 2.0, 3.0, etc. versions that work! LOL!

Feel different!!

Its going to be a f'n blast to drive... EVERY DAY if you want ;)

yea, when i actually just stepped back and thought about it, sometimes simple is more. considering i dont have shit for power mods except the procharger when ever it gets back to me lol i think after the blower gets slapped on i'll focus on the smaller things for a while like finishing the suspension, drivetrain, and tires worry about the big ticket items in a few yrs lol i know we all say that. any ideas just out of curiousity what my hp and tq numbers will be when the blower gets put on.

p-1 10lbs boost gt500 pumps, mafia, hto plugs

Fuck that get the god damn D1SC, that's an order. Would you let someone talk you into getting a V6 mustang instead of the GT? No, so get the D1.

i am doing this thread so i can get the pros and cons of doing the upgrade or not so i can make a sound decision. i am really on the fence on this one . on one hand i upgrade i got plenty of room to grow if and when i build the motor. on the other hand i can put the extra money elsewhere like for traction to make it usable

i hate making these types of decisions lol.

Dude... trust me... I had both... get the D1... I sold my D1 to chrisstang1 on here... He made excellent power... The D1 and P1-1 are very similar but the D1 is just capable over a lot more boost... The boost will come on maybe 300-400 rpms later but when it does it will rise at faster rate... you more than likely won't nice the difference other than you won't have to spin the D1 as hard to get the same amount of boost...
