Don,
You been slacking on the pics!?? Updates? The last ones looked like they were ready to do some serious building.

Nothing has happened in the past few weeks. We were waiting on the permit, and about the time the permit was issued, it started raining. Now things have to dry out... :popcorneat:

I hope the weather breaks so they can start making some serious progress on your house, Don. Summer road trip season's gonna be here before you know it :). We can't all sleep in our cars in the driveway....

IMO, you could always sleep in Roper's sexy vert. Just drop the top for some ventilation, and turn the radio up to block the LOUD noises throughout the night! :bigbeer:

Aside from the pool, I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product! It's going to be immaculate, Don!

I just found out today that they plan on pouring the foundation the week of Jan 19th (weather permitting of course). That would most likely put the completion of the house sometime in the July/Aug timeframe. Our daughter is getting married on Aug 1, so I highly doubt we'll be moving until after the wedding no matter what.

But a Labor Day weekend bash is still in the realm of possibilities! :beerdrink:

Congrats on your daughter getting married, hopefully he is a car guy.

But then I'd be sleeping with Roper, and I've been told he snores.

So Labor Day, eh Don? That could still be doable. It's a 2-day drive from Houston. We'll see.

He's more into off road bikes and quads, but definitely a gearhead! :thumb:

Yes, we'll see... there are still lots of variables that will become more defined as the year goes along.

Plenty of time for me to figure out what little surprises I'll leave behind!

:evillaugh:
Blame Donna, not me.

It’s been almost a month since my last update. That’s because not much has happened until this week. Our permit was issued on December 17… the week that it rained so much. Then it rained hard again on Christmas Day, once again causing a schedule setback. These photos were taken on January 4, 2009. The soil was still pretty soggy even a week and a half later.

By the following Saturday, the ground had dried out quite a bit and the builder was able to get in and clean up the sub-slab utility trenches. At this point we were just hoping the rain would stay away a while longer.
