bleeding clutch question

I've been researching how to bleed the clutch/slave cylinder and Ive been seeing alot of "jack the driver side up in the air and pump the clutch and it will bleed itself"...How is this? When I was installing my slave cylinder, I noticed it had what appeared to be a bleeder valve. So with my understanding, I do not have to use that? Is it really as easy as just jacking the car up? I just dont understand how that works.


Im going to be doing this tomorrow so I can get the car started. Just want to know in advance so I dont have any more delays. Im REALLLLY wanting to go to a local car show Saturday so I dont need any drawbacks

Yeah dont even worry about the bleeder valve. Just jack up the drivers side and keep pumping and eventually it will bleed out. Just did it on my buddies car with an exedy mach 500 and it pumped up pretty quick. I never had to do it till his since my ram hd has a bleeder valve.

Also, bench bleed it if you have it out of the car still. Otherwise gtcs07 has it right.

Its already in the car...Didnt know about bench bleeding until I searched it on here...Hopefully it wont be ruined since I didnt bench bleed it

Just pump the pedal and it will bleed itself. It will also work out as you drive it around using the clutch.

You need to come check it out...All I got to do is solder in the BAP wires and its cranking!!!

ok...so Ive pumped it hundreds of times and I havent got any more feel out of it. Still goes in very very easy. I have the driver side lifted...maybe I will let it sit that way for a little bit and come back...how many pumps does it normally take?

When gtcs07 and I did mine it took about 100-200 pumps to get the clutch to engage. The about another 75 miles if driving til it was all out.

Any fluid leaking out? My factory bleeder didn't clip in all the way the first time.

I got it...It didnt have enough brake fluid in the canister...opps
