Dyno Numbers - Who Cares?
Did any of you see the current issue of Car Craft magazine (April 09)? There is a 2-page spread of a Jon Kaase-built Boss 429 stuffed in an '07 Mustang.
Actually, with a 4.627" bore and a 4.375" stroke, it displaces 589 ci, not 429. It made 973 hp, with an aggressive cam, but "Kaase deemed it too rough for his street taste". The milder cam resulted in 885hp and 801 tq. Not bad for a single carburetor and no juice.
It really looks sweet nestled in there. I like these kinds of oddball projects. Pretty cool, IMO.
