So, yesterday I was out looking for a tr3650 trans for my bullitt... I came across a junk yard in the Mobile Alabama area and they had a motor and trans for sale... over the phone they told me that it was a forged bottom end block yadda yadda, motor was in a 2010 roush that had caught fire while racig ( supposed fuel line broke or something like that). Anyways I went and checked it out yesterday and it was in fact a bottom end 3v.. mahle pistons, eagle rods and crank, arp everything... I ended up buying the motor and trans for 1400 cash shipped to my casa. I know absolutely nothing about the build on the motor other than it turns and has compression on all cylinders. what do you guys think about the buy? should I take the heads off so I can figure out what size head gasket they used? is there a mathematical calculation I can do from the cylinder compression to figure out what size gasket was used/ compression ratio, so I can get tuning correct? thanks in advance.
