broke 3 spark plugs

I changed my plugs about a year ago on my 06 GT.All eight plugs came out without any problems.So my wife has an 05 GT with 80k.I figured since mine came out no problem that maybe i would be that lucky with hers.Nope 3 of them broke.So I found out that our local ford place gets there tool from oreilly's and its $109 with tax.I know you can get them for less but they were able to get the tool the same day on there truck.The plugs broke off even with the shank.so the tool comes with a pusher to push the porecelain down so you can tap the shank.The tip of the plug keeps the porecelain from falling into the cylinder.The cool thing is the puller is self tapping so no metal shavings.Everything worked great and took me about 20 mins to get the 3 borken plugs out.So for those that are a cheap skate like me can try to get them out and if that fails you can get the tool the same day.

Good tip on the puller. Did you follow the TSB with the warm up the engine and use the.. ehh can't remember what its called, eats away the build up fluid. or did you just try to pull them w/o the procedure?

Yes followed the procedures using pb blaster and 3 still broke.

Good info here. With 72K miles on mine, I'm getting ready to do a plug change on mine as well. Been scared of the dreaded broken plugs...

This may sound like a dumb question, but since I have never changed the plugs on my 3V, I'm gonna ask anyway. This tool is for removing the BROKEN plugs correct?

Haha! You're killing me! You may not want it after hearing about what I am experiencing with it at the moment...

Right now I have discovered that my rag top is leaking terribly. After a month or more of being in drought conditions, we are getting heavy rain in north Alabama. Discovered what I thought was a small leak this morning, but then went out on my lunch break to check on the car, and had huge puddles underneath the rear seat cushion. If I wouldn't have crawled in the back seat to wipe down the moisture and felt the dampness in the seat cushion, I would not have know how bad the leak was. When I pulled up the back seat cushion, there were two huge puddles in the recessesed area where your butt would go. Now I gotta find a local shop that can fix my top. So much for the new sway bars I was about to get...

Good luck on the top we fought her Audi TT top leaking for a while
