After only a .12 and .08 improvement in the 1/4 mile after adding cams and delete plates, I decided to get a dyno tune. I took the car to Dantes Modular Performance (DMP). Needless to say, I am impressed. I know dyno numbers don't mean a whole lot, but about 6weeks ago I dynoed my car on a dynojet. This was after cams but before CMDP. I had dynoed 317/304 on a 91 email tune. With the addition of delete plates and the dyno tune I dynoed
319/303 on a mustang dyno. I can feel a nice increase in power according to the butt dyno. I will just have to see if that translates to better times at the track.
The tuner, Dante, is known to have safe tunes. He does have a good rapport among the modular crowd.

319rwhp/304rwtq with cams and your following mods? You need some long tubes or something because that thing is not breathing all to its ability yet.

Excellent numbers OP. Do you have a print-out of the dyno sheet? Would be cool to check it out. That should be good for about 330'ish rwhp on a dynojet.

The most important thing about a tune is getting that powerband tits on. You could make 300rwhp peak and have a shitty powerband. I'd much rather have 280rwhp and a strong powerband. The advantage to a dyno tune is you can see the powerband and tweak it to whatever you want. My very first run before getting tuned after all my mods I pulled 295rwhp 345rwtq. After tune, 330rwhp 325rwtq.

I'm hoping these Pypes LT's will give another 10rwhp or more throughout the entire powerband.

Trying to figure out why you would rather have 330hp/325tq than 295hp/345tq?
was that a typo?
I would take 345tq over 325tq any day.

It is a Mustang Dyno...
317 to 319? Not trying to be a ass but was that worth a dyno tune?

I still dont understand when people say.."those numbers are low"..Compared to what? Similiar car, with the same mods on the same day on the same dyno? Maybe...

It is just a number. Although it wont "impress" dyno queens, the dyno is just a tool, not a dick measuring contest..

I agree. All i care about when i go to the dyno is A/F ratios and making sure they are spot on for drivability.

As stated, regardless of what the numbers are, having it professionally dynotuned is good medicine for your car. When I reach the apex of my mods, it WILL get professionally dynotuned.

Way to go Gman.:thumb:

The best part about the Dyno tune is the Throttle Response, its soooo much better. The tuners are also able to dail it in nice around red line so the car really wakes up and keeps making power until its time to swtich, email tunes tend to get very rich up top. Also, they are able to bump up the redline to the point where the engine stops making power, i was bumped to 6400 rpm from 6k after my tune.

I made 302/300 on a Mustang Dyno with CAI, Hotrod cams and CMDP, so those numbers sound good!

He has 410 gear which also hurt the dyno numbers.

OP-are you a stick or an automatic?

I have a manual. I will try to post both dyno sheets when I get home but when I took a quick look, the power in both tunes comes on about the same time. When the tuner opened my email tune and started dialing it in, he said it was off. He didn't take it to WOT but at idle and crusing speeds, the A/F was too lean. He said the computer would compensate. Overall I am happy with the tune. It made a noticeable difference in power.

dont worry about numbers; I dyno 320hp on a mustang dyno on warm day at operating temp.

Just make sure you get a good tuner, the track will follow.
