Mark ! Its time to put twins on the new car for the street and let this one hit the trailer . Oh , and the big ass twins would be the way I would go if I had it to do again at this piont for the Mustang. Good luck on what you find the future to be for the car !

Hell yeah - I go to other forums to fuck around - but if i want to learn something - I come here...

LOL - at the show mods comment. Truth be told, I think deep down , the only reason the car is so pretty is so I can feel a little better about all the money in it when I look at it...:beerdrink:

if it was just a 'race car' - It would be depressing I think...
You sure you want to do this?!

That kinda shit will get you banned around here (or should). Even if it's a joke.

Sorry to hear about the misfortune.

So you've broken the steering wheel? :wtf:

LOL I wasn't offended at all. I was the "smart ass" that posted the picture as a joke. (and use it as an excuse to post a pic of a really well done S-197)

Besides this is the internet, If I had a dime every time an "internet tough guy" came after me I would single handedly solve the economic crisis.

Twins? why? 1 large single properly sized will produce more than enough power. two turbos = two times the amount of things to go wrong. I mean unless your looking for more than 2000 hp atleast ( thats what some of the largest turbos support) then I guess yea your gonna need twins. Which would be sick. :evillaugh:

Ck I Hope you get everything worked out with the whipple!

Well Mark......if you change your mind about the twins let me know. I'll give you Rick's number at Exile Turbo.

Actually.....two smaller turbos will always produce more torque and horsepower than a similarly sized single turbo and have much quicker spool times.

Volumetric efficiency

Im just open minded to learn and if you have an explanation as to why properly sized twins vs properly sized single makes more power im interested to understand your, just abbreviating by saying volumetric efficeny instead of saying that twins improve the effciency of which an engine can move the charge in and out of the cylinders doesnt explain the reasoning behind why twins are better than singles. Im just trying to understand your reasoning, I dont want you to take this as an attack im just stating and trying to get a different perspective is all.

twins for the street and single for drag racing.

twins spool faster because there is less rotational mass and twins can be closer to the manifolds. Exhaust turbines use both velocity of spent gasses as well as heat energy to spin the turbine.

Singles have a much bigger mass to rotate. but once you get them spinning............Look Out. :)

I'm an A&P mechanic and I currently build the worlds most powerful turbine. The GE90-115B.

The next time you go to an airport. go find a small regional Jet and notice how long it takes to start the engine.

Then go find a 747 and see how long it take for it to start.

I think it will give you a good perspective.

The best book I've read is Boost! By Corky Bell. It's a very good read.

exactly, this is similar to what I have come to understand that a properly sized big single will always make more power than the twins especialy since were talking about a soon to be race car.

which is why I was curious as to why he said twins will always make more hp and tq im just trying to understand his reasoning is all. Just trying to learn a lil bit. :thumb:

Can you measure a centrifugal type compressors VE? Seeing as its not positive displacement....I doubt this....

The single could make more PEAK power. However, peak power does not drive the car downtrack. Twins will make more power and torque across the entire torque curve due to being more efficient at all rpm ranges. Not only do they spool more quickly but they will produce boost more easily which means less heat build up in the intake tract. Plumbing also plays a key role in twins vs singles. Heat and energy loss in the exhaust piping required to plumb a single is virtually non-existent with a twin system. Each turbo is fed efficiently, produces quicker spool times, builds boost more efficiently, and keeps boost pressures up more easily than a single turbo.

It's all about efficiency. Getting back to peak power vs overall power. Twins will show more power and torque under the curve than a single. This is what drives the car down the track. A longer and flatter torque curve is the key to getting a car to move more quickly. With the twin system building boost and torque more quickly the car will accelerate quicker.

Sorry to hear that bro, Whipple should make it right. Whatever you do, take a week to make your decision. It will be a better outcome if you don't hurry.

Whipple should cover it. I have no idea how many street miles my whipple has, probably around 25K+ miles, + easily over 200 1/8th mile and 1/4 mile passes, and not a single problem

How many passes do you have on the 3.4? 20? How many street miles? I would guess maybe 2K, 3K maybe? Obviously a defective part in my opinion.
