This car is getting a built 4R75W within the next year.. I might put a 6spd auto in.. but, I'm going to wait and see how durable they are.

Nothing yet.. I went to the dealership today, and he had started on it, but, was juggling a few tickets. He said it'll be finished by Monday.

I will get a list of the parts that were replaced.. I saw the ticket on this, and it was like 3 pages of stuff. Pretty much everything except for the case is being replaced.

Yeah.. I think this is going to be an issue with the TQ capacity for this transmission. It's just not up to snuff.. Whining noise can only mean a few things.. Either the bearings or the case isn't able to handle the load. Noise only happens when the lash gets out of wack. For that to change so quickly in a new vehicle, it's gotta be something succumbing to TQ transmitted through the gearbox. There's not much else that can explain it.

You would think in testing Ford would have beat the crap out of the trans? What the heck is going on here? It's making me worry about my 2012 that's on the way. After all the crap I went through with my GT500 the last thing I need is to run into tranny issues with my new GT.

Good luck on getting everything fixed! :)

I'm being told that it will be ready late tomorrow/early Wednesday.. I'm getting pretty aggravated with this crap. I've been without my car for damn near a MONTH!

I can't believe that Ford drug thier feet on this for so damn long. Why not just put a new damn transmission in the car and be done with it? It's a brand new car! I shouldn't have to deal with this crap!

Ford should hire some of you guys to test their part proir to going to production. Maybe then there would be less whining trans and ticking motors.

My concern is that they are fixing the failed parts, but not the root cause of the problem.

All those parts that they are replacing were good from the factory on your vehicle.

Something in the vehicle is duplicating the effect of the clutch not fully disengaging. The input shaft is being partly driven, making the syncros trying to do an impossible job.

Ford also needs to fix the root problem.

I called Ford customer service today, and politely unloaded on them about this whole situation. I wasn't ugly about it, but, to the point. I told them that I wasn't happy about the dealership rebuilding the transmission, but, would accept it as long as there weren't any other issues. If I have another issue with the trans, I told them that I wanted a brand new/replacement transmission.

I also told them that I was frustrated that I've been without my car for almost a month, and that the reason is because Ford has dragged thier feet on deciding what to do with it.

After checking into it, they have escalated the claim, and I was told that I will recieve a call from that specific department within the next 24 hours.

haven't heard about this one....what's causing the tick?

I have JLT CAI, and I can hear valvetrain noise, but not a steady tick.....motor sounds like it did when it was new, you can just hear the valves through the intake is all.....are these motors dropping valves now, too?

Depending on state laws you should be eligible for a lemon law claim soon. Then Ford will eat the car and you can get an auto.

I had the ticking ( sounds like a LOT of valve train noise ) but mine went away after the first oil change + lucas full synthetic oil additive 10% + Mobil 1 Extended Performace 90% and a K&N oil filter. It may be a different tick some are talking about, but my valve train was super noisy and sounding like ticking. I think it has to do with the thin oil. But, after a little lucas it went away and sounds (at idle) the the cars not even running ( like a toyota corrola or something) so thats what worked for me. If its not valve train noise, god help us. My cars got 2200 miles and today went to ford because the transmissions shot. cant shift into any gear, clutch engages right off the floor, and in order to put it into reverse or first from a stop i had to turn the car off, out it into gear, then start it a go. ill find out tomorrow what ford says after they open her up. Damnit ford, my first time buying one and less than 3 weeks into ownership its been in the shop twice and 3 different dealers. Dont think ill be buying another ford ever.
