Well in the spring I am planning on starting mods on my 09 GT and was wondering what I should do? Right now I have on the list is a CAI + Tune, 4.10s and LTs with High flow cats.

My overall goal is a fast 1/4 mile car but it will still more street than track.

What else should I put on the list? The budget I am trying to stay in is 4000 to 5000 while not going F/I. I was thinking maybe a new cam but not sure which would be the best for my type of goal. I was looking at either the comp cams 127300 or 127400 but not sure.
Any ideas would be awesome.

delete plugs for the cmcv's and an aluminum driveshaft.

Suspension! check out BMR products!

Stay away from pulley's, TBs, and the intake. Can make good power with the ones u have now and will work good. Im still running my stock TB and will be making over 600rwhp.

I wouldn't do cams unless u wanna build the bottom end. Ur gonna end up wanting to do it down the road i bet and it will save ya some money.

Well I KNOW you say no FI, but with 5 grand that would be the best bang for the buck, period.

With no FI though, I would beef up the rear suspension with some upper/lower control arms, drop brackets and a panhard bar if you are lowered. Maybe some nice lowering springs and shocks all around.

A aluminum 1pc driveshaft.

I nice set of P&P heads and some Comp VSR or SPR stage 2 cams. Then an aftermarket intake manifold to delete the CMCV's and compliment the heads/cams.

It also depends on whether you are doing the work yourself or if you have to pay for labor. Labor will be intense if paying someone to install heads.

i understand you saying to stay away from an intake and TB...but why pulleys too? theyre fairly cheap and they make power.

yeah like 5hp if ur lucky. Not worth it to me. Only pulley i suggest on doing is the Roush Idler Pulley and a Innovater's West 10% overdrive pulley. Now that will help you way more! And those 2 pulleys are for when ur doing some major mods like a new built motor. But with what this guy wants to do, i don't see that happening.

I would work on the suspension first so the car can perform better with the mods.

I have to add in labor this so FI is not going to be in this round of building.

Probably end up doing LTs, gears and a CAI and tune. Then have a bit of money left over

Oh snap, i misread your original post. I thought those where the mods already on the car. So yeah, that would be a good start.

Do it yourself or save until "the next round" and do it right with a turbo kit. :thumb2:
