Busted my tail all for this....

Well it was a sucky,rainy and wet day just perfect for cleaning up and waxing! I still need some advice on the wheels and tires heres some pics at what i done!

BEFORE
1 notice the hood is just primed and ruff!!

AFTER
1 And now the hood looks painted and glossy but its still primer!!I also buffed the lights, and all thats needed is to be sanded a bit and clear coated!

5 I sanded the mirrors but heres the side i haven't done its real ruff and almost felt like velvet any ways heres before..

6 After I wet sanded it also ready for another clear coat!

7 Now tires and rims- whats the best thing to use to get this oxidation look off the rims? Im guessing some type of rim polish and a really good buff job?!?!

11 Im guessing that there is no way to fix these dry rot cracks that looks like tire stretch marks??

Justin, I somehow missed this thread. Good job on the hood, it came out great! As far as the wheels go, you need to use a really strong wheel cleaner with acid in it. The acid will remove all the oxidation and rust. It will obviously remove all the polish as well, but that is not a problem because you need to polish them again anyhow. Now get some metal polish and get to work! Also, I have some extra screws for the center caps if you want them since yours are all rusted. With a little bit of time and elbow grease those wheels will look as good as new.

Well it was goin to be a 347 but i decided i would rather build a 408 instead! I want to make an all motor build! Also i want to make this thing for some autocross events!! Im trying to get in good with a body shop so i can paint it myself!

I know I already told ya, but that thing is not going to be very ideal for auto-x. It is going to be really nose heavy with that 351 block up front.

You need a power ball for your drill and some Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish for those wheels...way less elbow grease!

I agree.. this would be a good street car and drag..with some bottle juice
