Just installed a Calimer transmission into my '12. It's amazing how much slop and noise a 13 year old car with 229k miles on it develops. Don't even realize until you get a new one. Complete night and day difference.
Drove up there from Florida to pick it up, brought my core with me (and my new g/f, turned it into a labor day weekend vacation). Really cool place and super nice people.

I was a little shocked to see the fluid change interval of 9000 miles with normal driving. They suggest, and it comes with, Motul 75w90. There's no way that gear oil is used up in 9k miles. Is this necessary? Seems a bit excessive to me. Or is this the way to make an MT-82 live longer?

You drove from FL to PA to pick up the tranny?

What stage tranny did you get?

I did. Like I said, took the new girlfriend and we turned it into a vacation (Wife of 23 years left me about 2 months ago. I'm not one to sit around feeling sorry for myself. Got a life to live. Met a super cool girl, she's also super hot AND drives a mustang, lol)

Went to DC for a few days and then stayed with her friend in North Carolina for a few days.

I went with a Stage 1, it's just a DD car, not tracked at all.

I asked the guy if anyone else has even driven from Florida to pick one up, because shipping is only like $300 and it includes a return label for your core. He said, I'm definitely not the first. People have come from Florida, Texas, etc.

Upgrades all around!!

But seriously though. Only 9000 miles on a fluid change? For 75/90 gear oil. I'm almost to the 500 mile break in, which I'll change the fluid then. I was thinking maybe do the first 9k, change fluid. Then push intervals out to 18k? Still seems a little excessive to me. But if this keeps it happier, then I'll do it.

Does anyone else have a Calimer MT82 in their car?
