I've done a lot of research on ported heads for our N/A 2007 GT/CS concerning what to upgrade within the heads and which companies are worthy to buy them from , but not about the gaskets/studs, so I need some help with this. What head gaskets/studs did you use?

You should use ARP Head studs since they are reusable and are alot tougher than the stock TTY head studs

stock gaskets , and arp if you plan to spray or plan on pulling them again ....FWIW they have a set of tty head bolts in the classifieds for cheap

Thanks for the input guys. Spray and F/I is not in our future(F/I would be the one of the two we'd pick), nor do I think the heads would be pulled anytime soon if at all after the swap, but I still will highly consider the ARP's.

This is a very important part of a build, so I'll discuss this with my dad and inform him that the ARP's can be reused, while the stockers cannot.

i used a set of stock ford MLS gaskets with ARP 4V studs. they are a tiny fraction shorter than the 3V studs but worked fine plus i got them for a steal compared to the 3V specific studs. If you're not runninig high comp or FI/N2O then just use the stock bolts and save some money.

Thanks again guys. Yeah N20, FI, or high comp is not in our future. I know where to get the OEM gaskets/studs for a good price so I'm in luck. :)

I've decided on the heads(livernois), just not sure what cams to buy yet. When we buy the parts for our build, I'll tell my dad to call Comp and talk to them about a good cam for our setup.

Ron, what guy should we ask for at Comp to talk to about cams? You mentioned it one time but I can't remember now.

I didn't remember that actually lol. You use nitrous, so I can see why you run upgraded head bolts/gaskets.

Even on F/I or nitrous setups people swear by OEM head gaskets .... I used fel-pro in mine but I also got them alot cheaper and that is also what my builder suggested so it was a win win lol .

Yeah I've heard that before, I just thought 07 pro upgraded the gaskets for more assurance.

Edit: Oh ok 07 pro, I see your point lol.

Don't go down the all motor road.. it's long and bumpy with good results coming only after beating yourself in the head a few hundred times xD

Put a blower on it for the price of doing the heads and cams your dad will love the car to death with 420+ rwhp on tap for 5-6gs

I'm kind of considering the Supershaker as an alternative xD. N/A just sounds good to me because it's different and it's less stress on the engine(not knocking on blown guys lol). 420rwhp would definitely be MORE than enough.

LOL, I guess I should say "enough for awhile" instead.

Matt, I forgot to say, once you add in gauges, clutch, tensioners, belts, etc, blowers get EXPENSIVE, which is one reason why I'm still more partial to N/A.

Bryan Pitcher is the man. Can't find his direct extension right now but as soon as i do i'll pm you with it.
you've really got to want to do an NA combo or else it's really not worth it. I did but thats just because i'm not a FI kind of guy. nothing against it i'm just a bracket racer at heart and there's no comparison for consistancy especially in the late rounds....which i like to visit from time to time :)
also there was nothing left to prove for power adder stuff unless you've got ton's of money to try and run 7's or something. i knew i could build a 10second NA car so thats what i went after.
for the money twin turbo's or a whipplekenne bell are your best value per hp i think.

Thanks for telling me the guy's name, I appreciate it. :)

We're not looking for super big power, which is part of why I'm looking at staying N/A. Even with an S/C, I can't see us having over 420-440rwhp.
