Cams today.

Today is the day I install my Hotrod cams. I did a ton of research and talked to a couple guys on the forum so I fell confident. So wish me luck guys video going up tonight after install.

awesome man, only thing i reccommend is taking your time, making sure everything is clean, and double check that all the followers stay where they need to be.

I just installed my hotrods a couple weeks ago. I used the piece of garden hose and some patience. It ended up being really easy. I have complete confidence that you will be ok as long as you have some mechanical knowledge and common sense.

Cams are installed =P. I took my time with every thing and the install went smooth i am going to do my first start up tonight. Sooo keep you guys posted and pics and video will be up soon.

Are most of you that are installing them yourself still getting a tune for them?
When we had our 06GT we got a dyno tune with them and it seemed to help the
gain some.

And also for those who installed yourselves, do you have the hunting RPM idle problem?

We had that for three months before we found a tuner that could fix it.
Went through three different tuners.

Apparently when you get a tune if it is not JUST right they will do this and many tuners consider it normal when it in fact can be fixed and fixed EASILY, as long as the tuner is familiar with the problem and knows how to fix it.

We LOVED our Hot Rod Cams!
REALLY makes the car feel like a true muscle car!
BTW with the cams, long tubes, and tune we gained 40RWHP.
Pretty good gain! And with the lope and feel of the car shaking like a monster, it's DEFINITELY worth the money!
Hope they put as big of a smile on your face and you enjoy them as much as we did on our 06GT!

Hey guys just got back from my fist drive with the cams installed and all i can say is wow MY car really woke up. I have a custom tune made by a Local tuner with the idle set to 688rpms car sounds and feels awesome i can set the A/C to full blast and take off in second gear easy. So far as my cars I have already installed Jlt intake, Hot rods, JBA LT's and off road H-pipe, Magnaflow 3" magna packs, 4.10's, MGW short throw, and almost full BMR suspension. Not much as most on the forum but I am proud of them.

As far as the CAM install wow definitely over rated I had the cams installed within 2.5 hours with two poeple, and following hammers right up. I took my time labeling everything before taking everything apart. I took the battery and tray out which made it very easy to get the passanger side valve cover off, wish I could say that about the drivers side haha much harder to get drivers side off. But after the Valve covers were off the rest was cake cam's were installed within and hour and a half. I think the hardest part off the job was installing the valve covers. Videos will be up tomorrow.

You can do the job with one person but I recommend two people just makes the job easier.

Dont be I was extremely nervous before the install. It was really nothing with two people the job is easy.

I am planning on buying the Frpp intake and throttle body does anyone recommend this setup with my cams?
