I've got my 15x10 race stars. They have 28" et streets on them.

I don't have reclocation brackets yet. Can I just yank the rear sway bar for now?

Also, the stock tires look to be around 26.75" tall. If I put the 28's on, will the car shift okay, or will it hit the rev limiter thinking it's going slower than it is?

Wonder if I shift myself the 1, 2 , 3 and then into drive if that will work.

Lots of variables to think about before tomorrow

I wouldn't run without a rear sway bar, just wait a week and do it the right way.

99% of the muscle cars of the 60's ran without sway bars.

You can take off the rear swaybar and drive without it.. just take it easy at first till you get a feel of how the car handles without it!

as for the taller tires, the car will run and shift like it always did.
when you get the chance, you'll need to retune the car and update tire rev/mile ratio, which will simply correct the speedometer reading, but wont change how the car ran or shifted.

To the OP. You'll be fine without it. Now for DDing I'd keep it on. I take mine off everytime I goto the track. Some say I'm retarded and just get the relo's but I don't see why I should waist my money on fitting my bigs when they see the track maybe once a month if I'm lucky.

The sway bar itself isn't what interferes with the smaller diameter wheels, the the steel bracket that is welded to the rear that the outer bushing clam shells bolt to. The relocation kits actually have you cut the lower portion of the bracket (about 1.5") and moves the sway bar mounting point up. So, getting rid of the rear sway bar will not help you in running 15" wheels out back. Hope that helps.

i know that, i've had 3 s197 cars, i was going to pull the sway bar and go ahead and trim where needed to be trimmed with my dremmel

ended up going on stock tires so, not a big deal

Oh, I see now. I didn't know you already had intentions of trimming the bracket. And BTW, I don't know if I would run the car without a rear sway bar. Jack the car up and just unbolt the sway bar end links from the body and then rock the car, it moves a lot without it.

i finally found these thread.

I have a problem with the sway bar it self. I have CHE Anti-squat bracket and if i use the BMR sway bar relocator, the CHE Anti-squat wont allow the sway bar to be mounted. The sway bar hit the bracket...

Is it just the CHE brand or the bmr have the same problem????

Also do i need the bracket with the cobra jet springs?????
