well some of you who read my intro post know my dad and i ordered a 2011 5.0 Black w/ White Stripes and the dealer said it would take a minimum of 8 weeks to get in, Me being impatient decided to cancel the order and Talked dad into getting this.

now im in more debt then i wanted to be but we were going to supercharge the 5.0 Anyway and do other mods so we would be right around the price of the GT500 so just went with it lol

And for thoes of you thinking "why doesnt he garage that car?"... it is garaged, That was the first night we had it and the garage was full of stuff from when we moved, 2 days later and half the garage was empty with just enough room to open the car doors lol

Sadly I wont be modding anytime soon, 550hp is enough for me for now, once i get some extra cash then mabe but until then, im sticking with stock (I know its only a matter of time before I get the modding bug lol)

I think you made the right choice, you prolly would spend the same money on the blowen GT but the GT500 will hold its value better over time.

I will assume you are pretty young since you have involved your dad in this purchase. All I can say is be very fortunate to be able to drive such a nice car at a young age and be careful with it. Make sure that beauty doesnt end up wrapped around a tree.

I came to the same conclusion when the threads about superchargers for the 5.0 came out and they listed the price. It really makes no sense to buy a new 5.0 and get a supercharger for it right now. In a few years or so maybe but right now it's pointless unless you MUST have the 5.0 for some reason.

Plus like it was said, the GT500 will always hold a better value due to the name and the fact it's a higher end mustang from the factory to begin with.

I plan on looking for a used 2010+ GT500 in a a year or a few years from now. Hopefully I can find one for under 40. I love the thought about a Boss, it's pretty amazing, but honestly I'd rather have the shelby.
