That's all well and good, but I haven't been able to find a set of driving shoes that fit my size 12 wide feet. I tried on some Sparcos at OG Racing and couldn't even tie the freaking things, they were so tight.

Euro brands tend to run more narrow I am told, so Puma, Sparco, etc. might be the wrong stuff to look at for the wide of feet. Maybe check out Simpson or something?

Sky, my feet are not 12s, but they're wide. When I get new Piloti (anything) I can't fit my feet in either. The first thing I have to do is loosen the laces down to the toe and reset them so my foot fits.

On my old 32's I had to loosen them so much I ended up with the bare minimum left to tie the things. The Sebring and Prototipo are a bit more generous in their lace lengths.

I think if Sparco made the equivalent of size 13s, I could have fit into the shoe. The problem is that the largest size they make is the equivalent of US 12, and those shoes actually hurt just to have on my feet, not even laced up.

My first outing was horrible and I was advised to wear some of the stickiest shoes I could So I threw on my old college wrestling shoes. I thought they were extremely comfortable and I could drive very well in them. Do you think I shoud spring for the "driving" shoes or just stick to what I got for right now?

wrestling shoes have been used by many for driving.. lots of feel..

i have a set of pilotis that i won.. great and so light..

make sure your soles are dry when you get in the car.

I do drive in different shoes than my dress shoes.

I don't have real driving shoes, my favorite are my boat shoes, the stiff sole transmits feel.

I struggle with new balance sneakers, can't feel the clutch they're so soft

Sorry to revive an old thread.

I got a pair of Sebring Piloti last year and they are way too hard for what I want.

I want something really soft soiled where I can really feel what I am doing with my feet, any suggestions?

I really liked my old pair of simpson's until they just melted as they became older.

im using Adidas Racers. i got a pair of nikes stuck between the pedals trying to make a u-turn on a 5 lane boulevard. ended up basically doing a donut and getting back into my lane going the same way i was originally

I've been looking into buying racing shoes for years with no luck :-(...but with a size 16 to 17 wide (depending on the manufacturer) I think I may big out of luck.
