Cheap drag set up ?

This is basically the same setup we run on our 2011+s.
They hook VERY well in that size(similar to a 315 on a pre-05) and can really improve 60' times. I believe we've gotten down to low 1.6 60's with the M/Ts in our automatic.

You're car looks great, btw! Have you run with that setup yet!? I so, what times were you running?

Have a private rental at atco raceway on October 7th. First time running the car, just hit 2500 miles, lol.

Very true but if he were to buy a bias ply tire he'd have to get bias ply's for the front also. From what I gathered this wasn't his plan as he said "cheap drag set up"

Who told you that a bias ply has to be ran on the front as well? I've never ran bias ply's front and back. I used my stock wheels and tires on my 04 on front with 15" slicks on the rear and never had any issues. I run m/t sportsmans (8 ply) on the front of my TA with radials in the rear again with no issues. Just trying to find out where you heard that.

Its a commonly known fact. Just look on MT's website (which appears to be down at the moment).

ive driven plenty of cars down the track with slicks on the back with street tires in the front with low tire pressure the car has a slight feeling of swaying at higher speeds.

The swaying is going to happen with a bias ply regaurdless if the front has a bias ply on it or not. And seeing as how 99% of the racers I know use a radial on the front/back with a bias ply on the other side and not a single one of them have any issues I don't see any reason to change. You find a viable reason to run them like that and I'll have no problem listening to your argument. But until then I see it as a marketing ploy to sell more tires. Just IMO.

I doubt that you or a lot of other people have. But it is HIGHLY recommended that you don't. Could be a marketing ploy, but I'm not risking my ride.

That's not from not having a bias ply on the front. That was shear lack of traction. There is smoke coming off of his back tires almost immediately after he leaves the line. That guy should have completly let out of the throttle right after he broke traction.
