I bought my truck used so it obviously didn't get the care that I would've normally given one. However, on my hood I'm noticing spots, that look almost like soap spots, but it's the clear coat starting to let go. Is there anything that can be done for this, short of sanding and re-applying clear?

Are you sure they're not just etched water spots? Pics would help.

I'll try to get pics tommorrow, but it's been raining like crazy and now they're calling for snow here.. I'm not sure, it could be etched water spots, but they don't come off..

Do you use a rotary polisher? A rotary with wool can pull them out most of the time. Sometimes it may require a little wetsanding with 2000 grit, but they can come up most of the time.

Sounds like water spots. What have you tried so far? Water spots don't typically need something as intense as rotary/wool.

Get us pics so we can see what you're dealing with.

if they are water spots, they should come out with a Porter Cable
