clueless... 06 GT fuel leak?

I bought this car a couple years back from a guy he had all the work professional done here lately i have been having a leak i can see small gas bubbles comming out of the bolt head faceing the camera. Anyone have an idea what it could be? Sorry if the pictures are big.

I know that it is gas with some oil mixed in i just dont know what would cause it to leak unless a seal is bad

You are answering your own questions, the system is under pressure... so yes a bad seal would indeed allow it to leak...

And if you can see its leaking from the bolt then remove it and put some new sealant on it and tighten it back up.

You can use any fuel safe sealant or teflon tape. Also you will want to let the pressure go down before removing the bolt. You can do so by pulling the fuel pump fuse and letting the car idle till it stalls.

The car has beensitting for awhile now. i took the bolt out it was only about a 1/4 inch long and put some tef tape on it. I asked a buddy about all the gas/oil down on the value covers and he thought it was a value cover gasket gone bad

Likely just gas mixing with some oil vapor and dirt/dust under hood and collecting there.

There is an oring in there. I would open it and check to see if the oring is bad. Or like Jeremy said pull the bolt and put some sealant on the bolt and re tighten. If the seal is bad it will start to leak at the joint of the adapter.

happend my 06 the fuel rail where the two pieces are attached had a pin size hole and was a HORRIBLE leak. Got a set of stockers on here for $35

Another thing to check might be the injectors. When there is a fuel leak that you can't find, injector o-rings are usually the culprit. I know you said that bolt had bubbles, but if you fix that, still have a problem, and still can't find anything, check injector o-rings. Also, fuel systems can be smoke checked.

All this fuel leak talk has got me thinking. Is there a definitive way to test for a fuel leak that you cannot see but only smell?

What lines do you use? Most lines like fragola breath some and you will get the fuel smell alot without an actual leak.

Mine are all Jegs SS braided lines. I used to have the smell but dont seem to anymore since some lines have been redone. I was just wondering if there was a powder or chemical or spray that would show a minor leak before you could see it.

Yeah not sure, you could use some fuel dye etc I have heard of that before.

I had a small fuel leak when I put my fuel rails on. It was from a bad o-ring at the fuel pressure sensor. Definitely check them.
