Last weekend my sister and her boyfriend were visiting. They never really get to be around anything other than busses, trains, and grocery getters. I took them to a parking lot at their request and did a few donuts for them. I got a nice clutch smell afterwards. I've noticed that when trying to do burnouts and donuts in the past, I had a clutch smell as well. I also get it sometimes while downshifting and slipping a little bit.

This is an exedy 400 installed last summer. About 10,000 miles on it. Nothing abusive other than those few incidents. Maybe 5 attempted burnouts an donuts. I'm only asking because I can't imagined engine is over powering the grip of this clutch. If I side step and keep my foot off the clutch, it will still smell. Never happened with my stocker.

Sounds like it's just getting hot and maybe slipping a little bit. You would probably know if it was slipping though. I hate the smell of burning clutch.

Don't think so. I never have a problem shifting and I used a slave with 5K miles on it when I installed the clutch.
