So I got rid of the Bullitt a little while back, miss the hell out of it but that's besides the point. I drove a 03 cobra today, had a pulley, full exhaust, cai tune. Car didn't feel near as strong as the bullitt did. Shouldn't a cobra with these mods be making close to 450? Maybe I'm off but not real familiar with the terminators.it was also a vert. My Bullitt made 468 hp and 417 tq. It felt wayyyyy faster than the cobra. Was I expecting too much from a car with this few of mods? Or was the different power band throwing me off. I hammered that thing in 2nd gear on a hard launch and not so much as a chirp from the tires.it pegged the factory boost gauge almost immediately too. What are yalls thoughts, opinions?

About right on the power. But what kind of gears were in your bullitt? and with stock gears in the termi low end doesnt feel like much. A lot of people go with 4.10s because the power band is more higher rpm.

Convertibles are heavy. It all depends on the pulley what power it should be making. My buddy had a convertible and we could blow tires off in 2nd any time we wanted. But another convertible I test drove was nothing compared to his old one

The Bullitt comes with 3.73 gears and manual 5 speed transmission.

Yeah mine had 373 and I would assume the termi was stock, didn't have much pull on the low end. Never got it on the highway just some back road playing around.

Yes it still had IRS. just didnt have much punch. 80k on the clock might be taking their toll.I am passing on it anyway.Have 3 more im looking into now.Just wanted to make sure this isnt the norm with a pullied cobra.

Do you know what size pulley was on the Cobra?? That will change alot as far as performance goes with the 03-04 Cobra's. A 2.76 upper pulley Cobra with supporting mods is no slouch against a modded Bullitt, even a vert Cobra at that.

It could be mildly tuned also with some power still on the table.

Just some things to consider and yes ive owned two different 04' pullied Cobras in the past.

To be honest i have been around termis for so long that they lost their appeal with me. I would much rather have an '01 Bullitt or an '08 Bullitt in DHG just because not many people around here even know what they are and when they are fixed up they are one fun car. Kind of like the Dan Gurney and Parnelli Jones Saleens are.

I see a heck of a lot more sn95 cobras around here than s197 Bullitts.

I have seen comparisons between the 4v and the 3v heads and its pretty much even, so your bullitt can run just as hard if not harder(as yours did) then a termi.. The only positive is the termi's bottom end can take more hp and its lighter then an S197. Otherwise the 3 v motor is just as strong as the r4 v

Never ran a Bullitt, let alone a blown one. I've ran 3 different Terminators though, from stock all the way to pullied and completely bolted, they are some predictable monsters IMO. I pulled the stock one by almost 2 cars, the pullied and geared Terminator had me up to 3rd gear and the bolted one was just a bad ass race period. Never seen one that was lacking in power though...

I really don't think this one had a 2.7 pulley. Maybe a little bigger, but I just found a near mint 04 silver vert with a steg port to stage 5 and a whole ton of other parts on it for 17 obo. I may have to go see it soon.he assures me it's not down on power...lol. I miss the hell out of my bullitt. Talked to the salesman 3 weeks after I traded it in, the car was still not listed online for sale yet. I called him up and he said oh it's still in the shop.....I asked him why?... His response"I think some one broke it and they are waiting on parts before they can sell it".....i was actually considering buying it back,,Until I heard that,so you guys with bullitts out there, keep them...lol
