This connector isn't correct for what you were trying to do, it is a 4 pin. What you have pictured is the mate to the fan motor connector.

Ya I went and purchased his unit anyway. Also I have a FPP 7 blade fan with it. Works fine so far.

Glad I wasn't the only one. My fan went out about the same timing, more recently the AC compressor clutch grenaded at a stop light. Seems like another common issue in the earlier coyotes. Replaced, no issues since - also in the desert
