Just wondering if anyone knows which wire or pin on the coil pack is hot/trigger. Been trying to find some reference but there's nothing out there I can see.
I've got to wire mine up from scratch due to my weirdo frankenbuild. I have the connectors but don't know which goes to what.

The COPS have constant power to one side of the coil when the ignition is on. The other side of the coil is sent to ground through the ECU when commanded to fire. The constant hot side is normally one color throughout the 8 coils. The ground/Trigger lead is a different wire color on each individual coil. Looks like purple is constant hot on this Coyote engine. Which would make the right terminal as facing the coil the ignition hot lead.

From a digital logic standpoint, it is much easier to switch the ground side and "sink" a current than it is to switch the hot side and "source" a current.

That's why high-current circuits are often switched on the ground side.

That is correct according to my Ford wiring book for a 2011 mustang.

Does that book give the schematics for the cam and crank sensors? Need to know what each color is on those.
Cam should have a ground and signal
Crank has signal pos/ signal neg
Just don't know which color wire is which?.
Thanks for the info guys.

Cam sensor 12 is brown/blue and gray/orange
Cam sensor 22 is green/violet and gray/orange
As you can see the gray/orange must be the ground but they both go back to the PCM

Crank sensor yellow/violet and green/brown

I hope that helps sorry I didn't check back here till now.
