Cut wire in my trunk

Hey all,

I just got myself a 2007 Mustang GT/CS. The previous owner imported it to Germany and had a light conversion done to make it road legal for Europe. I can understand all the wiring changes that have been performed, except for one. Now when I look in the trunk of the car, I see a cut wire, where the wire is spliced of and running to the tail light cluster.
As you can see in the attached photo's, the wire is cut from a connector that also houses the wires from the rear speakers. However, when I look into the wiring harness on this page, there are no connectors mentioned except for the convertible connectors but my car is a coupe.

Does anyone have any idea what this wire is/was used for and help me try to understand why it seems to be wired into my tail light cluster.

Thanks,
Dennis

I don't remember any tail light wires up under the parcel shelf Dennis. I'm fairly sure all the original wiring is either the speakers, the heated rear window and maybe a wire for operating a convertible roof as you put it? There's a possibility somebody has used the heated rear window wire or convertible roof wire to run the fog light instead as a shortcut to running a wire from the dash? Have you got the original rear lights still fitted? I done my own UK conversion but I used euro light rear units to comply.

I still have the original rear light fitted. Only a lot of change has been done. For example the original reverse light are the blinkers and a new reverse light was fitted underneath the car. For the rear fog light, they run a completely new wire from the dashboard. I have seen in under the door kick panel and in the trunk.
But indeed, one of the wires running through the connector is probably for the heated window. So I looked it up in the wiring schematics. Again, as shown in the screenshot attached, there seems to be no connector in between these wires. So I can still not find the connector name. Although, the wire color for the heated window is Brown-Light Blue, which is the color of the cut wire. Nevertheless, the rear window defrost is working, I had to use it a few times already when it fogged up.
So still a mystery. Hopefully anybody can point me to the connector in the wiring overview.
