I remember meeting this guy at a BBI autocross/road race event back in february. Sad to see this happen to him, what a POS wheel company.

This is ridiculous. Over replacing one wheel and possibly covering some of the repair costs; this company decided to ruin their name. It's not like these are cheap wheels either, it's stuff like this that can ruin a company... fast..

Think they would have learned something from the Chevy dealer.

QUOTE: This does not speak of the safety and appropriateness of the product, which we feel is 100-percent safe for use on or off the track, but rather to the applicability of our warranty. With this revision, our warranty policy is more in-line with industry norms, which even at the OEM level precludes the use in a track environment.

That is a fine piece of double speak. We say you can use it on the track, but if it fails, it isn't warrantable.

Yep, I remember messaging this guy when the wheels were up on SVTP and I was interested in purchasing them. He told me all about this incident back in July.... It is just terrible.

They looked.... so purty too.

Is it just me, but don't those spokes look WAY too spindly? I wouldn't trust that car on them on the street much less a track. Comparing that pretty shot vs the broken wheel shot, it looks like a whole chunk of each spoke just disappeared.

The new response they put out doesn't help. Their reputation is already gone, and I suspect the business is soon to follow.

Never underestimate the power of forums, especially when it comes to aftermarket company reputation..

It's the same bit of double speak Ford uses when addressing the use of the "Track Pack" Mustangs and the Boss 302 warranties. "Yeah, we designed these cars to kick ass on the road courses of the US, but if you do, we wont warranty any damage, even if it's a fault of the product on our end, because it set foot on a track." I would LOVE to hear the conversation about the Track Apps and any miscalibration that they may get.

Customer: "Yeah my track-apps isn't accurate, can you recalibrate it?"
Dealership: "How do you know it's not accurate?"
Customer: "Well it doesn't match my 0-60, ET and MPH that I get when I go to the drag strip."
Dealership: "Ohh so you took it to the strip? We can't help you with your problem, you've voided your warranty, have a nice day!"
Customer: "Wait, what?......."

Heaven forbid you use the vehicle or product like it is intended. And I wouldn't pay $4500 for wheels with that thin of spindles. They CLAIM that they have the engineering power to make them 100% safe on and off the track, well, I hate to break it to you, but apparently not. The guy shattered the center out of a wheel on a track, probably on street tires.

Moral of the story, if you want dead beat reliable track wheels, you can get a lot better for a lot less. See: Enkei, Volk, Wedsport, CCW, Forgeline, etc, etc.

I'm never buying COR wheels!

Oh wait, there so expensive, I was never going to buy from them anyway.

The part I find insulting is the "you painted them and caused them to fail" part. Even if it was powdercoated, you know how many motorcycle rims come powder coated from the factory? Almost every sport bike in production in the past 15 years. It is actually pretty rare to NOT have powdercoated rims on a sport bike.
