FYI if you wanna do a 175 shot, you should consider the C&L intake manifold. it has bosses built into it that can be drilled for direct port nitrous injection

expensive setup but it's the best way to do it. you are assured of equal n2o\fuel mixtures.
i wish someone made a cmcv delete plate with nitrous bars....similar to a plate system but then you would only have to change 4 jets instead of 16 :) i talked to speedtech about this and they said they would do it but it was expensive to the point i could just buy the fogger kit.

anyway the chambers were coated with the same material but i used a heat gun to cure it since my heads were already assembled with valve seals and i didn't want to chance messing them up in the oven.
it isn't thick enough to make any change in compression it just keeps the heat in the cmbustion area instead of soaking into the piston. it's an old trick people did back in the 80's-early 90's when there was no HPC or Swain coatings. Hot Rod magazine did a dyno test way back and got 40hp on a high compression SBC motor just by coating the pistons.

If the pistons are new and clean what the heck all you need is some VHT white header paint # SP118 and an oven. there's a tech artical on VHT's website i think for the steps involved. ...found it here ya go.

Paint must be completely dry before curing
Heat to 250°F (121°C) for 30 minutes
Cool for 30 minutes
Heat to 400°F (204°C) for 30 minutes
Cool for 30 minutes
Heat to 650°F (343°C ) for 30 minutes

well due to the new job kinda screwing me around i have not been working for a little while funds have put this project of mine on hold a bit. at least for the bottom end. all i need to do the heads and cams are head studs, and my new intake manifold. which was delayed again. meanwhile i will look into a different piston set. and i have decided to only go as far as taking the block apart. i will pay a good shop to build it.

more pics!

I've got that Canton 7qt pan in my car and it's a nice piece. The only thing that sucks is that the kicked out sides make it much harder to reach up from the bottom to get access to the header bolts.

My car takes something like 8qts of oil now with that pan.

Good luck on the build.

Uh. No, why? Bought it from some dude on mustangforums. Paid $4000 for the stroker kit and the stage 3 heads shipped.

Haha don't worry about it. On my phone it looked like my stock crank I gave a little TLC too! GL getting your funds back in order

Ah, lol. Yeah the cranks new, no wear marks, crappy iPhone pic. Numers match with livernois. I'm the 3rd owner of this never used stuff, lol.

Good luck with the build. Hyland makes a DVD worth buying called "How to Rebuild the Ford 4.6 Engine". It's pricey but a worthwhile investment.

As for that hardware, it's most definitely not ARP stuff. The longest ones are stock main bolts, which you definitely do not want to re-use. The short stubby ones are the stock main sidebolts which are fine to reuse and for which an aftermarket replacement doesn't exist.

Well after much deliberation I have decided to send my rotating assembly to livernois and have them make me some custom pistions.. 11:1 compression. Balance it again, and build me a short block. As soon as I can afford it. Now just to convince them to ceramic coat the pistions before they install them.. Lol

Update to my dyno pull, had a pair of plugged cats that went a week later. Now removed, a injector that had a leaky o-ring and was sucking air, and I have installed a electric water pump since.

No you cannot. They are a torque to yield design and should be replaced. Have to buy them new from Ford.

They don't have to "make" anything. Manley makes a flat top piston for that combination that will yield 11:1 compression. It will have to be rebalanced though.
