"Since the Shelby’s suspension was designed more for the track than the road, it did give up some stability in our slalom, requiring a deft touch to keep the rear wheels planted; hence the reason the Shelby couldn’t quite match the Grand Sport’s slalom speed." The extra 460 lbs and front weight bias doesn't help, but I would definitely like to own one - great looking car!

I drove both...and ended up buying a GT500.Its unfair for me to compare it to my 06 Griggs AIX car..so i won't.

The weak point of the Shelby vrs the Vette IMHO is thats its under tired...550 hp/3800#'s on 265/285 tires.

However the 2011 Vette will come with better tires and suspension..so that maybe a different result

The GT500 is impressive stock tho :) I ended gettin mine for 49k with the svt pac..good value
