The cruise control on my 2007 Mustang GT 4.6 with 5 speed does not work. Has not worked since I bought the car. I don't know much about the history of the car but the previous owner said it has a "tune" in the ECM. No idea what type. I had the Ford dealer check out the cruise and they said the ECM isn't programed for cruise. Has anyone seen anything similar with a engine tune disabling cruise control>

Cruise is a configurable option. A tune should not disable cruise control, unless gears were put in that are outside of the OEM ratio range. Not a 6 spd swap is it? Or the cc buttons just dont work. Need to scan for codes.

Standard 5 speed. I don't know history of rear gears. CC buttons are good, not only did I replace with new, but I referred to the wiring diagram and ohmed out all the switched back to the PCM as the cruise switches all work on different resistance values. Ford said they don't even see cruise control as an option to monitor when then connect scan tool. Also check codes and neither Ford, or my Snap On Modius scanner find any active codes.

Cruise issues are a bitch, only code they cause is "open switch" p0581otherwise it just wont work.
Cruise requests can be monitored with Forscan live data.
A reflash to stock with Ford IDS maybe needed here.

No, I don't have the handheld tuner that may have been used to program the car. This car was a "barn find" that had been parked abandon for 12 years in a shed. After researching VIN and chasing down a title I talked to the guy that owned it back in 2011 and he told me it had a "tune" in it. My next thing to figure out is if it's a Shelby GT. It has the Shelby American tag riveted to the radiator support, and strut tower brace, but not the interior dash plaque or some of the other Shelby treatments.

without the tuner, puts you in a hard spot, the car will likely need a reflash to stock and then you could buy a new tuner if you wanted to have the car tuned again.
