I need a laptop to data log to and the Chrome books on Amazon get great reviews but I saw one review that says it doesn't download traditional programs. I'm computer challenged and need to know of it will work. SCT tuner???

I want to say the datalogging program runs off of Windows. The Google App is more for uploading the tune into the car. It does have digital gauges, but I don't recall seeing a datalogging function on it.

No it won't, they run a proprietary system for those.

I'll stay with a windows based system. I'm looking at something cheap and simple.

Dell Venue 8 Pro. Can be had for under $200. If you need a keyboard get the case with bluetooth keyboard for $30 on Amazon. Battery is fantastic. Doesn't have a full size USB drive but you can get an adapter for $5.

If it's just for data logging pickup a used laptop from ebay.

ASUS, Lenovo, or Toshiba. The Dell models we have been getting at work tend to have network issues within the first month. Maybe just a hiccup in the current lineup as this is the first I have seen it happen on multiple units.

I have never had an issue with ASUS or Lenovo.
