Years ago, I went with a Hi/Low beam 8000k headlight setup from HIDGUY.NET with the single beam 8000k foglight kit as well. Fogs have never burnt out yet, the headlights have each burnt out once.

Bought 2 brand new bulbs from them within the last year or less and as of last week I went to use my car at 6am and noticed I didn't have all my lights on. Something from the wiring must have gone bad or somehow got wet. Both headlights don't turn on nor does it make that "warm up buzz" when I flip them on...

I plan to buy all new Dual beam headlights and single beam fogs from DDM today or tomorrow if you guys have some answers..

I do not know if I have 35W or 55W currently for either headlights and fogs. Say my headlights were 55W and my Fogs were 35W or vis versa, is that bad to run or would that even work? I don't want to order the wrong stuff..

I can't seem to find out if this kit is single beam or Dual beam (Hi/Low)

I would go 35w all around. 55w tends to get hot and melt stuff. Also with the hi low kit you do not need the extra relay harness. I would do it for the fogs to be safe. DDM tuning does has a lifetime warranty. I have never had any problems out of my stuff. I would go with 6000k though IMO. 8000k is to blue for me now lol

I am confused on the relay harness part.. When I bought my original kit from another site it came with/required the relay harness for my dual beam headlights and nothing for my fog lights.. lol

Oh and I don't want 8000k anymore, I am going 4500 for pure white.

I have been waiting on my order from DDM for almost a month. I placed my order on 4/9/14 and they are still in China. I would pass on DDM and get the from theretrofitsource.com.

^this.. I stopped using them as I have had nothing but miss match color bulbs and ones that fail within a month.. sent them back for a refund about 2 months ago and still have not received anything.. now that they are dealing with primarily Chinese crappie bulbs I know use and spend the little bit extra on the retrofitsource bulbs and hid parts

Just placed my first order with DDM last month for 35w hi-lo kit with matching fogs. In less than two weeks it was at my doorstep, so I was really surprised. Just installed headlights and so far no complaints. But I understand your frustration.

I've been using DDM for years, I have only had one ballast go out in 5 years and they had me a new one within a week. One issue with the S197 though, the headlights have a fluctuating voltage and the fogs do not. Because of that, the headlights would either fail to light up or flicker most of the time. I wired in two capacitors to fix that and have been problem free ever since. The fogs work normal though.

You must have got your shipment through customs before they started rejecting packages. On a positive note my order finally hit US soil on the 2nd so I should have them early in the week. I just hope they are worth the wait.

I found the relay box usually goes bad, you can rewire it with 2, 30 amp relays and get rid of the china relay they come with.

Paul how do you do that? I want to try this before I spend $$ on all new kits. I put the halogen bulbs back in for the mean time and they look terrible + with smoked headlights, I can't see shit lol.

Just to explain why you need relays real quick.

Factory non-HID harness only provided 12 volts to either high or low beams independently of each other, either or.

HID works off of magnets, it just moves a small housing that exposes more of the bulb. So instead of "either or" it needs constant 12volts on the bulb and switching 12 volts on the HID wire (magnet).

To accomplish this using the factory wiring , we send 12 volts from both the high beam and low beam wire to the first relay that provides the power to the bulbs.

Only way this works is with a one way diode on the wire feeding 12 volts when the high beams are on, you can get the diode from radio shack for a few bucks. Diode must go in a specific direction to make it work. Just look at the diagram I made.
