Upgraded my deck in the 2013 to use Android Auto about a year ago. We are "media whores" so cd's, alums, cassettes and even 45's for the jukebox. As we are old folks the whole digital music and streaming never really caught on for both my bride and I.
Last year we did a shit ton of road trips as it was our first year retired, just in the past week or so decided to go thru our cd collection (1,200) and find a way to use these in our cars, motorcycles and phones? Who knew.
Because we are old, it does not mean we don't know what we like. With that said I wanted to rip all of our CD's and find a way to filter the tracks to get all the "radio hits" and use those in the vehicles. Found a program called MusicBee and have been on a mission to digitize our collection and tag each single individually allowing the auto playlist feature to handle at least part of the task. Happy to report about 1/3 done and it seems to be a good thing. Had to go back thru to "embed the art" so the cd covers display in the cars and motorcycle.
So along with that out of the sheer fear of size and in hopes of access throughout our home decided to also purchase and integrate a NAS 6TB raid 1 to store the files.
All good if I just could lock myself away for a few long days I could have this project behind me, since that is just not possible will have to see how long it takes.
