Here's another plug for THP. I couldn't be happier with the kit or service. Jim goes so far above an beyond, I couldn't recommend anyone else in regards to turbos.

JPC is a fantastic shop, too. I would be concerned about the Hellion stuff, though. Too many horror stories, and way overpriced... IMHO.

well guys it's time to ditch the whipple and go the turbo route, but before i buy everything i want to ask if theres any place with cheaper prices, bad reviews on product, or am i going in the wrong direction. Here's my list (all prices from jpc website)

ford racing 62mm mechanical TB- $589
Big stuff 3 gen 3 ecu w/ DEA & DAI (LS1 coils)- $3,596
Hellion twin turbo for gt500 (intake pipe will be modified to fit gt) w/ 67mm percision turbos & ball bearing upgrade- $10,135
BMR kmember 1/2lower mm- $520
already bought the jpc intake manifold and steeda delete plates

also does anybody know if jpc gives the forum a coupon code?? :D

I thought the jpc intake didn't need delete plates?

It doesn't if its the cast intake. Only the billet.
This.

Anything custom requires their billet kit, which in turn requires the delete plates. I lucked out as JPC was able to find me an older cast set. I think they're all billet now...

Well the car had a broken valve and I took it to Gearheads for warranty work so now it's all in pieces up there. Taking it somewhere else isn't really an option.
I wanted to take my car to fischer motorsports, but I rather not take my car up there in pieces and have him try to figure out the puzzle on how to put it back together on my dime. Once it's running I'll think about a different tuner, but Gearheads will be seeing this build through. It's just a bolt on kit. How hard could it be. Lol.

It's "they're"".... As for the best bang for the buck, see my statement below.

It doesn't matter who's nuts you attach your swing to. Sooner or later you are going to get pissed off or fucked over. That is just the nature of the game. Trust me, your fanboy attitude for that shop up north won't last forever. And I ain't trying to be a dick by saying that. Just stating the facts. Every shop shits on you sooner or later.

But let's be realistic.. when you are talking turbos in the Metroplex, especially custom and/or twin turbo setups, you end up talking about HPP.

Oh the landlord sold my building Alex. And then stole my deposit over a stupid mistake in the contract. It was all kinds of fucked up. Its a long story pretty much.
Valve spring dropped, luckily no crazy damage was done. Just fucked up valve guide and valve spring. I went ahead and just changed all the springs and valves cause who knows what MMR uses in there heads and better be safe than sorry.

And rford I simply just have no room or time to do it at my house. And plus it's already at Gearheads for the warranty work. U can ask stang389 my house is literally full of cars in a little ass drive way and a little garage.
If I still had my shop I would do it in a heart beat.
And I look at it as what shop haven't I heard horror stories from. U can't make everybody happy. I've taken my 04 cobra and my Shelby to Gearheads and the only really problem I have is turn around time. It's fuckin rediculous. Lol.

Oh you'll see mistakes in my grammar through out all my post. When I'm on my phone I don't really care about it. I'm lazy I know. Lol.

Well Jim advised me away from precision. So now the plan is the THP kit with there larger intercooler and 61mm Garret's. And he's trying to advise me away from the ball bearing upgrade as well. I'm like do u not want my money or what?? Lol.

Save yourself lots of problems and either get the journal bearing Garretts or do the best thing and get a pair of Comp Oil Less turbos. The 3v has such high oil pressure the BB turbos have a big problem with the oil backing up in the turbo and going past the seals into the exhaust.

Oil less turbos?? How does that work?? Is it like the self contained oil procharger where u have to put oil in it every some odd miles??

It's a self contained system. http://www.compturbo.com/spotlights/oil_less I just upgraded to the Comp CT-3 6062 Oil-Less on mine and I am very Happy with the results. They aren't cheap but well worth the cost. In my application they said about 40,000 miles and then $300 for a rebuild of the oil-less section. If Jim doesn't handle them see what kind of deal you can get on his kit without the turbos. Jeremy and Bobby with S&H performance can make you a deal on the Comp turbos.

I'm probably a minority here, but I have always used Borg Warner journal bearing turbos without a single issue. I had a single 66mm then a single 75mm and now twin 66mm with no issues running a TSS ho pump. I agree with earl that the oil pressure only causes issues with blowing past the seals of the turbo.

Try journal bearing or the Comp oil-less turbos imo.

Also, are you against removing power steering and a/c? If not, cg fabrication makes forward facing headers and you could have a custom twin kit pretty easily. I'm building my own forward facing headers for my twin setup to possibly retain a/c, but ps has been gone for a while.
