I didnt see many write ups on drilling the water passage in the teksid block for your 3v heads so since I was doing one I figured id do a quick write up on it. You dont have to take it to the machinist to do it. Its very simple and takes about 15 minutes to do it.

First take some machinist dye or a sharpie and color in the area on the upper drivers side area.

Then scribe out the hole with the gasket on and center punch it. you dont have to have it exactly centered cause its gonna come off center as you drill it.

Start out with a small bit and work your way up in drill bit sizes. I usually work my way up to about 1/2". you can go bigger if youd like just be sure not to drill the hole to the exact size as you scribed because you need to chamfer the hole and if you make the hole too big or chamfer it past the raised lip on the gasket you can have a leaking issue from it.

Once I get to the size I want then I hand finish it with a die grinder and sanding roll then hit it with a chamfer tool.

test fit your gasket and your done! If you want to be able to adjust the flow then you can tap the hole and put a ALUMINUM pipe plug in it and drill the center out to your desired size.

Good job! Love seeing shit like this! A lot of people tend to miss this hole when they do a teksid build.

Timing cover

Here are pics of the three aluminum blocks. Left to right. TEKSID, WAP, NVH. Also a pic of the timing cover. I didn't have an oil leak with the TEKSID but it did leak with the WAP. I also understand that it will leak with an iron block but havn't seen that. I circled the area where it leaks. You can see on the WAP block where the material is missing that is on the other blocks. The TEKSID I used was an early one...maybe the later ones were like the WAP and didn't have the extra material.

I just cleaned the hole out and filled it with ultra black and didn't have a problem with the WAP leaking.
