Drain plug sizes? axle/trans/oil pan 2006

Yeah, I searched; here, google, etc. got nothin' but noise.

Anyone know what size the pipe plugs are in the differential and the 5 speed mt on a 2006 mustang gt? Looks like 3/8" npt to me, but I want to be sure before ordering overpriced magnetic drain plugs.

Stock diff drain plug has super weak magnet, so I want to replace it with one of the 'rare earth' type magnets.

While we're at it, what size/pitch is engine oil drain plug? Thought that might be good to have here, too.

Wow, magnetic drain plugs used to be as controversial as the dreaded oil debate!

I always thought if you "magnatized" the metals swimming around in your oil and they broke away from the magnatized oil plug from the slosh, they would adhere to the rotating parts and over time wreak havoc. Same with those cheesy JC Whitney magnets that people put over their oil filters to adhere shavings inside the filter.

Oh well. What do I know. lol

First there isn't a drain plug in the rear, and the trans all ready has 2 magnets fixed to the bottom of the case. So not needed or usefull. Oil plug ????????

Yeah, used wrong nomenclature. Diff has "fill plug" that is pipe plug. It is magnetic from the factory... so if it wreaks havoc, I guess Ford boffed another one, eh? ;-)

Interesting discussions for another thread.

Anyone know the sizes?
