I noticed that i was hearing a rubbing sound, and my brakes were acting really wierd. So, i thought my brake pads were done, the car had about 27XXX miles on it. So i figured it was time for brakes. When i looked at my brakes i noticed that my driver side rear rotor was half chewed up, and its the only one which was messed up. I bought new brakes and decided to change it myself. So, when i went to put the new brakes in, the caliper kinda fell into two pieces. I put it back together best i could, but now it seems my emergency brake is way to easy to pull up, and i can feel alot of strain on my front brakes when i go to stop. Do you think that since this rotor was half chewed and the caliper fell into two pieces, and now my emergency brake doesnt seem to be engaging, that this is something that should be covered by the warranty? or is there soemthing that i could do myself

Something like a brake caliper should be covered, but the pads and rotors, more than likely, will not be since it a wear item. Who knows call and ask.

I would get a new brake caliper though. That should not just "fall" apart.

Exactly my thought. I know the pads and rotors aren't..i wasn't saying that, but like you said it shouldn't just fall apart and then my e brake quit working. I am going to have to take it in, Especially since it is the only rotor to be half chewed up. And when i looked at the pads, they still had life left in them, so it had to of been a caliper locking up ya know?

Actually, pads and rotors are covered if the damage was caused by the defective caliper. Don't let the dealership tell you otherwise.
