It is with some trepidation that I write this post; I know it's going to piss-off people who've had good experiences with DynoJoe.
Sorry Justin, but I probably won’t be going to Joe’s encore session and won't be giving DynoJoe any more of my business. I tried; following the advice of people on this forum, which I consider my "home" on the internet as far as the Mustang is concerned, and in order to support a forum-sponsoring vendor, instead of buying my CHE Adj UCA, CHE Adj Panhard Bar and Spydershaft from the manufacturer's directly, which would have been cheaper by saving me state sales tax and would have been delivered to my house, I bought them from him. I backed out of having them installed by him because of a combination of really vague and incomplete answers to questions asked on the phone, by text message, and by PM, and also because of responses like: "I don't need an lbs inch torque wrench, I do it by feel" (when talking about intake manifold bolts on a CMDP install). In my book, that's a lack of thoroughness. Even before backing out of the parts install at his shop, anytime I called with questions it felt like he was doing me a favor by me attempting to give him business, but I think my backing out of the install pissed him off.
However, after my parts install, I was still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, and was willing to buy my headers (possibly even my UDP's from him AND have them installed at his shop - admittedly, one of the factors that led me there was that I wanted to have the car dyno-tuned by Doug). However, here's another event that leads me to avoid doing business with him: after spending $1100 in parts with him (oh, I also bought the GT500 spoiler from him, which had been languishing in his shop for several months), when I asked for advice on setting pinion angle his response was:

Now, I understand he's not in business for the fun or it, he does have to feed his family...but I was asking advice on adjustment of parts that I bought from him; was I wrong to expect that little bit of vendor support? On the phone he said I should ask the guys at G-Force about pinion angle (coincidentally, or maybe not, they installed the parts for me). I'm of the opinion that lack of customer support and attitudes like that, aren't conducive to repeat business, or to referrals.
The final straw was that in this post (earlier in this thread....still giving him the benefit of the doubt) I specifically asked questions about which headers he sells and I also ask for a quote on the parts and install, and I asked for a PM on the matter, but I've yet to get any response whatsoever, even a response like: “let me work on it, and I’ll get back to you” (note that he posted immediately after my quote/PM request, so he has seen the post).
So, Justin, I'm done with trying to be a DynoJoe customer, even if he is a forum-supporting vendor. I'll buy my headers from someone else, pay them to install them (God knows I'm not attempting that by myself), and then pay them for a dyno-tune that will pass emissions, and if I do have trouble passing emissions, I'll pay to have my manifolds restored to OEM, reinstall my OEM airbox and re-load my stock tune before I spend 1¢ with him for an emissions-passing tune.
Cody: Like Justin I’m also in the market for ARH LT catted-x headers….probably aiming for Oct/Nov for the purchase/install/dynotune.
Now Marc, I'll answer this for you and then I done.
First off, WELCOME TO AMERICA, WE PAY SALES TAX AND TAXES!!!!!
Now lets talk about your Post and what you left out! Everyone here knows I am a Business owner and must act like such. Well, I done with that. You called me on my personal cell Phone as well as Text messaged me on weekends and after hours for information on how to fix problems you were having with someone else's install. Is that something I should be concerned with, No The Parts are fine, but the install was wrong according to you. You also called me during the middle of a Dyno day, not once but 4 times to ask how to set your pinion angle, Shouldn't the shop that installed your parts have done this for you? I know I do for all My customers who have these parts installed!
Please put all the info in your bashings of me! I have gone out of my way to help and answer all of your rhetorical questions that you like to ask as a Lawyer does, same question in different way till you get the answer you wanted! I have done the same with alot of folks on here that call to ask me questions about this or that. If I know thay are not near me and cannot bring their car to me, I try my best to help them over the Phone, Ask those that have called! Now if you are local to me and less than a 30 minute drive, and you had your parts installed by someone else, whom you considered to be able to do a better Job than me, then call and ask me how to fix their install, I tell you to bring it over, and I;d look at it. Did you........NO. You kept calling wanting me to explain how to do something that I have learned over the years and Experience working on these cars. If I tell everyone how to do something, How will I make a living with So many Do-it-yourselfers out in this day and age???????
Your post of LT's could have been a PM, which you have sent several to me on questions about parts, installs and proper setup, and it would have been answered in a timely manner.
You Stike me as someone who most in our field consider an Engineer, You over think the simplicity of things making them complicated! I know a few on here are Engineers whom I've helped with several issues on their car to help them resolve problems when they though they were over complicated but needed someone to show them the simplicity of the problem!
Marc, You seem to be a good guy, you have some problems communicating.
I have gone out of my way to help folks on this board and others with questions and problems. When someone abuses that, I put a stop to it!
As Supporting our vendors on here, I seem to be one of only a FEW Vendors on here who puts up specials, and answers question online when I have time.
Last but not least, This is for everyone, If you need to ask me a question or get some answers to a problem you are having, it is best to call or send a PM, Not make a Post in a thread and hope I will see it.
Marc, have a Nice day and I wish you well in your pursuit of building your Stang! For everyone Else, I am off to work and If I am needed, Pm's are the best way to reach me on here, or call me at 281-667-5566.
Thanks.
Some will take this the wrong way, and others will understand What I am saying. If you take it the wrong way, Think of it like this:
Your Job pays you money, and someone who wants to do what you do calls and ask you to explain in detail how to do, How will you keep your Job!
Here is your post I am referring to about posting everything and not deleting it. You're Mad because the Dyno day was moved to La, not here in Houston. I wanted to move it to Baton rouge to give Cody a chance at some folks seeing his place as well. I think you are pissed because now for one of Doug's or cody's or even my tune, you'd have to make an effort and drive somewhere! Sorry we cannot cater to Just you.
However, now that the
session is going to be in Louisiana, there's no way I'm subjecting my car
unnecessarily to those crappy Louisiana roads
