Early (05-08) versus Later (08-10)

This question occasionally comes up and I had the early ones from my bad motor deal and new ones that are going to get some powdercoat love.

Early are black and later are natural. Really just the one tab difference, so you should be able to swap no problem, just use right gaskets.

Yup, they just deleted a couple bolts on the new ones.

I'm running FRPP valve covers on my 05 heads with no issues, like
Brian said they just deleted a few bolts, no biggie.

The vct holes are smaller on tue newer covers. You have to remove them to replace the vct's. The older ones you could reach the bolts on the vct through the hole.
