I emailed BBK and told described the issues I was having with their so called "bolt on header set". Here is the reply, at least they read their email.

Thanks for your input regarding your situation when you tried to install our headers. I am the Director of Manufacturing here at BBK. Just for your information we have sold well over 325 sets of this part number in the last year without a single complaint. However, as the person responsible for customer satisfaction I take ever complaint very seriously. As soon as I was made aware of your issue we suspended all shipments of this product until I completed an investigation. As you probably know these headers are manufactured in a fixture, first thing we did was we pulled samples out of our finish good inventory and check that all the product fit the fixture, we also checked the fixture for damage. Everything check out good with no problems, next we check our hardware kits BINGO! We supply two types of header bolts; we found some kits contained the wrong (longer) bolts. I would like to apologize for BBK, we are very sorry for your trouble. Also, as a secondary error proofing we decided to use your suggestion and change the flange design and add another slot.

Again, sorry for any inconvenience

thats what I told this Don guy. since he doesn't have to keep two different bolt sets in stock and save the company money, they ought to just reimburse me for the the whole setup.......lol

I also told him that I was a member of several Mustang forums and have related my issues with their product and they could continue to look like "a-holes" or i could append my posts with "BBK refunded my extra spendings

Looks like no money, so its time to go after product, cause labor in the eyes of the beholder can be cheap........lol

I feel your pain.

I’m going to have to get back to you on this, the owners are headed back east to the PRI show & they are gone till the end of next week. When it comes to cash reimbursements that’s out of my jurisdiction. I understand you had a horrible experience, please reconsider bashing us on the forums; I would like a chance to resolve the problem. With the economy the way it is last thing we need is unhappy customers talking trash on the internet. I’m doing my best to take care of you. okay

This was my reply

First off I have "trashed" BBK, I simply stated the facts, secondly, I posted your reply so that everyone could see, and comment on the fact that you gave enough of a crap to at least answer my email. SO not only have I not "talked trash", I have given BBK the opportunity to vendicate themselves of not giving a crap about their customers. Of course I would love to say "hey guys, BBK is aware of the hassle involved in a DYI header install on a Late model Mustang and felt so bad that they sent me a throttle body for my car to compensate me for all the hassles and the $200 extra it cost me to install their product. Let me know if you want me to append my comments with what I suggested.

Sincerely,

Terry Folks

I hope you didn't hit the send button....

I did hit the send button and from the rest of the statement one would think the guy would catch the typo. However these are the same people who have a 50-50 shot at getting the correct set of bolts in the header kit and missed.

I wonder if that is why I got such a shitty rely today............lmao. I got the "we are ISO certified, yabby, yabby, yabby". My thought ( which is a bit biased at this point) is if you would just slot the flange you wouldn't have to play any many miny moe with bags of bolts.

FYI, their response said "well we did cost you a couple hundred bucks, and tough shit". So there is your BBK customer service announcement. just one more of lifes lessons, should've bought Kooks, hookers, JBA anything but BBK.

When I hear someone mentioning buying headers I will share my experience with them and hopefully they will buy something else. I will know the tales of the Dyno tomorrow. THen I will either fill like "well the fucked up and it cost me a couple bills, but thier stuff makes horsepower, or, not only is their customer service shit, but so is their product. And since I know what is involved, the second set will be an easier install.
